Re: Did we actually get a reason for scale-gate?

My biggest frustration is when people say "it isn't a problem to mix and match". Cool... then you shouldn't have a problem shifting to 1" scale. :) As someone in the "not that big of a deal" camp, this is a compelling argument. I'm not sure they'll ever do it, but not only ...

Re: Boat items in KS8?

I'm particularly disappointed that the number one selling point (IMO) for the rowboats--modularity-- isn't even true... because we can't use the KS6 and KS7 rowboat parts together. :( Is that the final word? I knew there was an issue, but have they given up? Is it just going to be that they aren’t ...

Re: Boat items in KS8?

I would be surprised to learn that this could be a fruitful avenue for DF to pursue. I can believe that there are some avid nautical gamer fans out there, just like I can believe there are avid historical gamers and avid model railroaders for that matter. But this still seems like more of a niche ma...

Re: BotM and Alternate Builds

First off -- great build, RB! I love seeing the Space Marines on the ramparts, too. But just in general that's a really awesome fortress. As for the backdrops -- I actually think it would be easier to find backdrops for Castles than for a lot of other things. I was looking around for backdrops for a...

Re: Did we actually get a reason for scale-gate?

IIRC we did get a reason, and it was this: When resin was developed, it was very inexact and the final product was slightly smaller than exactly 2” per piece. They kept working with that when they were small and working with resin, and retained roughly the same proportions for KS1 and KS2. When they...

Re: KS8 Is getting concerning.

I wonder if DF would seriously consider this? At least a few people seem genuinely interested. I know that they take a lot into account when planning a KS -- not only production costs and SKU issues and competing products but also their own interests. Ultimately I think DF isn't ever going to scale ...

Re: KS8 Is getting concerning.

I'd love to see a blend, and I think it MAY be just a coincidence that we haven't seen it lately. I mean, KS5 was entirely based on the 2x2 model but it also broke ground on all kinds of inventive and fun new pieces. Caverns Deep had a lot of basic 2x2 pieces, but the organic nature of caverns cause...

Re: KS8 Is getting concerning.

Regarding the comment that DF should focus on the big spenders 'whales' - please watch the KS1 launch video, https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dwarvenforge/dwarven-forges-game-tiles-revolutionary-miniature The goal was to get cheaper 3D terrain to more people. KS1 also had 5,398 backers compared...
