Re:My cavern Kickstarter sets arrived today!
<t>Some additional thoughts:<br/> <br/> <br/> Be careful when you unpack the Stretch Goals pack not to throw away the spider web. It can blend in with the plastic bags.<br/> The 45 degree angle passages are great for creating non-perpendicular paths.<br/> Lots of the pieces look great on their sides...

My cavern Kickstarter sets arrived today!
<t>I got two sets plus the elevation set. I have quite a few of the old cavern sets, and I bought these sets to augment those.<br/> <br/> First impressions:<br/> <br/> I LOVE the Dwarvenite. Sturdy and light, should be easy to store.<br/> The sculpts look fantastic, as usual.<br/> There are a TON of...

Re:removable mountain
<t>I've done something like this before. I had a 2-level dungeon cut from foam. I put the foam on pegboard to make it more stable.<br/> <br/> As far as working with the stuff, you basically need the following:<br/> <br/> 1) Pink or blue foam sheet from a home supply store - the thicker the better. I...

Re:Question about MBA stuff
Except for their Gold Series line, the interiors are flat black with no sculpting. The two story buildings have removable floor pieces with cutouts for stairs.

Re:Catacombs in Paris, France
<t>I would second the comments about adding Notre Dame to your list. Also, check out the basement of the Louvre - you'll see the original castle walls. Also, the medieval art exhibit is very cool. I also really liked the Egyptian/Sumerian/Babylonian sections.<br/> <br/> When I went about 10 years ag...

Re:Medieval town "flooring"
<t>I usually use 4x4 cavern floor pieces for city streets, but they have that one annoying bump on them.<br/> <br/> I actually think a city streets set of cobblestone tiles would be awesome. Something like<br/> <br/> Base package - 9 pack of 8x8 tiles (for 3x3 board)<br/> Expansion package<br/> - tr...

Re:260 Dwarven Forge 6 inch by 6 inch tiles!
Absolutely awesome, but I have to ask - do you ever play anything on your setups? Or do you just enjoy building them to look at? I've found that I'm fairly limited in what I build by what my players can actually reach...

Re:Reaper's pre-painted minis -- the sad ending
<t>I guess the problem I had with the pre-painted Reaper minis (and to the same extent, the Dwarven Forge minis) is that they went with the largely common, iconic creatures and figures. Why would I spend money on a nicely sculpted orc or goblin for $4 when I could buy a dozen WOTC orcs on e-bay for ...
