I've been interested in this terrain for a while now. This kickstarter doesn't have anything I need, because it mostly duplicates things I have plenty of between DF and other terrain. The edges turned out to be a close match for my desert/moonscape background

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, except it was a SLOW and sloppy wash. See above. The over application was necessary because of the material, but the results actually turned out fine because of it.

Thanks everybody! The docks from Galladora were purchased unpainted, sprayed with Army Painter Leather Brown primer, then washed with Army Painter Strong Tone ink. This last step was way more difficult than it sounds, as the ink really did not want to adhere on the surface of this particular materia...
