Re: My Painted Burrows

Really nice job (on the minis too). Can you quickly walk us through your painting steps? Thanks! Sure thing. Hope this is helpful! Note that I use a mix of DF and Reaper paints. Burrows Floor/Walls: Base Color: DF Base Wood Drybrush 1: 5 parts DF Olive Drybrush + 1 part DF Cavern Drybrush. Drybrush...

Re: My Painted Burrows

Wow, that's super crisp. I may do some touch-up (washes / highlights) on my burrows to bring out some more of the detail. I'm generally happy with the factory paint but yours is fantastic. Thanks! When I was painting mine, I noticed that adding soft/sepia wash around the roots made a huge impact. I...

Re: My Tavern Setup

I got the cart from here:

The detail on the Tabletop World sculpts is really incredible.

My Tavern Setup

I've been painting lots of miniatures for a tavern setup for a while and finally have enough to put together a scene. Exception are several of the food crates which I got from jahecker on ebay. IMG_0414.jpg IMG_0438.jpg IMG_0441.jpg IMG_0445.jpg IMG_0451.jpg IMG_0454.jpg IMG_0456.jpg

Re:River Caverns Paint Job

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I'm glad you all like the color scheme as well. Shore Colors: The open water portion is just Shallow Water Green layered on top of Deep Water Green. The shallows portion has a base coat of the red-brown (see below), a drybrush of Olive Drybrush, and then a wetbr...

River Caverns Paint Job

I went for a traditional brown/tan palette, with added water effects on the walls and moss highlights for a wetter cavern atmosphere.

Re:Ice Caverns Paint Job

<t>Thanks for the encouraging words, everyone!<br/> <br/> @kitenerd: I tried a blue wash on a test piece and found that washes don't do well on this translucent material--it ends up looking grimy and stands out too much. With the Realistic Water, I added in one drop of Reaper's "Twilight Blue" to ab...
