Re: PM changes

Well, I'm locked. I went a bit lighter than usual this time around since caverns don't show up in my games as much as they do in some other people's. Still, I was in for a couple hundred bucks. Then the PM arrived. The tiny treasures pack was a must add, and I almost said no to getting more of the t...

Re: Reinforcing Ikea Alex drawers for DF storage?

Well, it took a while. To spread the costs out a bit I bought one or two Alex drawer sets at a time, built them, reinforced the drawers, and loaded them. Then repeated a paycheck or two later. Finally, I finished. Five sets of drawers are mostly full and sorted. Dungeon (KS1 and DoD) x2, Cavern (wit...

Re: painting moss

As you work on the moss you'll also find that you can break up the patterns a bit by reshaping the moss patches a bit. Some of them have thin areas that you can sometimes leave as stone -- so some pieces will have two moss patches others one big one. Other patches actually paint as stone pretty well...

Re: Puzzle Floor Expectations

Maybe I'm missing something. But can't you just paint normal tiles to create a chess board? Why use the puzzle floors for that?

Re: Where is everyone from?

Currently about three hours from Lake Geneva (by bike) just over the line into Illinois. Began playing with a friend's blue box. My first character was actually an entire party (there were two of us - he was the GM and I played all six adventurers). The only one I can remember anything about was tha...

Re: Elevation Boxes

As others have noted, barring warped units, they do well as an elevation surface. As for storage: I just loaded mine with most of a marble Emperor's Palace mega pack. There is plenty of room for many not-full-wall-height pieces; dais pieces even stack. Things may rattle around a bit, but I'm not pla...

Re: Recommended size of painting batches

Any tips for either wasting less or at least being less bothered by it? Have some finished pieces with bling and minis set up on them. You'll still get sick when you realize how much paint you're "throwing away" but at least you can look at the final objective and say, "my players wi...

Fixes before going to Customer Service?

I just got the second part of my DoD and there were some issues. Some pieces I'm going to have to talk to DF about replacing. But before I do there are some that I might be able to fix. Thanks in advance for the help and suggestions. Does anyone know what color or mix was used on the golem's skin (r...

Re: Paint Brushes for Dry brushing

Good catch, AnimeSensei, you are right. I should have specified brush soap rather than regular soap. I've tried brushes like the bushier ones that Biowizard mentioned but the effects, for me, are "streaky." With some areas getting dry brush much deeper into the recesses and others barely g...

Re: Pre-shipment Notification

I had a very pleasant surprise last night. Turns out my notification had gotten into my spam folder and escaped my notice when I checked in there for it (I blame the summer cold I've been fighting). So, I had three boxes to inventory last night. Four if you count the box of tissues I was going throu...
