Re: Beans: Forest sub-theme

If the forest subtheme is half as good as what's in my head, there's a solid chance I'll be in for a double of that and ice caverns and only a small sampler of the rest. With any luck that will help Stefan in his goal of convincing people to do more outdoors :-)

Heh, I've got trolls and mercs too, but I do like painting khador.

Re: (WIP)What's that, new dungeon? You think we're going to get along well?

The semi-final version! Some university students, fancying themselves adventurers, went spelunking in old Tombs near town. This is a common practice, but not safe. They went missing, and a noble father of one of the students will pay handsomely for news of his daughter. The trail leads to the Tomb o...

Re: (WIP)What's that, new dungeon? You think we're going to get along well?

That's a cool build, you packed a lot of variety into a relatively small space. Thanks! The single tile corners and walls are amazing for making cramped quarters that weren't possible before. That narrow passage leaving the first trap corridor is only a half tile wide... Two single-tile walls and a...

Re: (WIP)What's that, new dungeon? You think we're going to get along well?

It's an easier way to build traps as well. I don't treat them like a puzzle, there's no pattern to be worked out in order to deactivate it. Whatever they think of that could work (and then has a correspondingly effective roll) is the way to disarm it. A lot of the time, traps wind up smashed or jamm...

My general approach to traps is "I have no idea how you're going to get out of this, the designer didn't make it to be escaped. I have faith in you though."

Re: (WIP)What's that, new dungeon? You think we're going to get along well?

Phase 2, built separately for convenience. After a big entry fight in the large rooms posted above, players advance to a really ugly puzzle hallway, because my players have been getting cocky and need to be reminded that they're made of perishable flesh. The hallway looks innocent enough, aside from...

Re: (WIP)What's that, new dungeon? You think we're going to get along well?

I am looking forward to seeing how terrain trays work in use. I am still pretty sceptical about them. I await having my mind changed. I've been using them for months, and this is why. IMG_20180708_082148-01.jpeg The negative space builds are great. The ways that I can dismantle and stack up my dung...

Me too, new dungeon. I think we're going to get along just fine.

WIP. Still have to use the more interesting architecture. This is all built on 12x12 sheet metal plates, so I'll be bringing in progressively more exciting pieces as the dungeon builds up.

Seriously though, I love the amount of visual interest here compared to the ks1 tiles. Each room has such a feeling of detail. This is going to be an interesting era of dungeons!
