Re: The smallest Wildlands pledge????

I think this is a very hard Ks for people starting near zero. It is a lot easer for those who already have a collection. I agree. Which is not to say that this was a bad idea for a KS (obviously the KS numbers prove that). Its just that it wasn't well suited for a combination of small current colle...

Re: The smallest Wildlands pledge????

I will likely end up under $100. Main problem for me is I just don't have the funds right now to go in real big. Was looking at waterfalls, but don't have any Erinthor, though do have some CD. But still, that provides limited utility in terms of encounters (cool though the falls may be). As such I m...

Re: Store Inventory

-Unpainted should definitely be completely separated out and be incredibly clearly marked. Also, I don't know the exact numbers but I have a suspicion that unpainted product should be high on the list to get relegated to kickstarter only in order to drastically decrease the number of SKUs, but I co...

Re: primer for transparent pieces

I would certainly recommend at least washing with warm water and soap (I usually use an old tooth brush). Regular hand soap usually does the trick. You want to be careful with anything that has an led socket of course though. For those pieces I usually just go with patience and eventually getting co...

Re: How to Stretch Goal

To be fair, Reaper has always timed their releases the same way and it has worked very well for them too. I absolutely get what you are saying, but it seems as though the gradual release of information has the effect of keeping people checking in on it. /Shrug

Re: How to Stretch Goal

I generally tend to agree with both of you. Profit margin will matter still, but only to the extent that it limits what the stretch goals can be. So to use AnimeSensei's example, the percentage of credit they can give will be limited by the margin. Moreso even given that its a credit toward addition...

Re: How to Stretch Goal

I don't have a lot of experience with KS (mainly just DF and Reaper as well as the Wyrmwood dice KS), so take my thoughts for whatever they're worth. First, and most important, when DF considers their SGs (especially in terms of "freebies"), they have to keep their profit margin in mind. I...

Re: Store Inventory

So for me, there are really two questions here: 1. Will I spend more in total in the webstore or the KS? 2. Will I spend more on a particular SKU in the webstore or the KS? For the first question, the answer is that I will almost certainly end up spending more through the webstore in the long run. T...

Re: Grid or gridless. Opinions!

I pretty much only use DF for RPGs. As such, grids generally help me -- at least for those areas characters are likely to walk on. I personally don't think this detracts too much from the aesthetic, especially for land areas. That said, I love TTs and have several of them, but have not bought any of...

Re: KS8 (or 9) - Cities expansion - what would you do?

My thoughts in no particular order: 1. I think that there's plenty of room for both sculpted streets/roads and terrain tray/battleboard/texture mat versions of them. The former are great for people who want to try to get the most realistic version possible, while the latter is great for those on a b...
