Re: 4d Terrain from Wizkids no serious competition for Dwarven Forge!

This is targeted at the same folks who buy lots of prepainted miniatures at $14 a box for 4 (or $90 for a brick of 8 boxes, or $340 for a case to get at least one of each rare from the release set.) Those come out 2-3 times a year each (for both Pathfinder/Paizo and WizKids/D&D) They have been selli...

Re: Revenge of the Troglodytes

The roof piece is cool, but there isn't a ruined one for the stone roofs. Hope that comes someday. ;) I have wondered about that for some time. Perhaps DF just figured that stone don't burn so well, so the Stone house ruins would mainly be some scorched dark same stone tiles and just the rook with ...

Re: Revenge of the Troglodytes

Very cool layout. 8-) 8-) I agree the ruined Inn is very nice. I think it's possibly three different types of ruins. Two for sure, CBS and DoD. ;) Follow-up question. For the City builder ruins pack (tutor) would I need a corner post pack to actually build with the ruins pieces? Looking at the pict...

Re: Revenge of the Troglodytes

I added some of the CBS Tudor burned ruins on top of the KS6 Ruins tiles to make it look even more like a structure that had been trashed in recent times. https://shop.dwarvenforge.com/collections/city-builder-painted/products/tudor-ruins-add-on-pack-expertly-hand-painted I had selected Encounter 5 ...

Re: Revenge of the Troglodytes

I took some more shots closer up to all the bridge works in the Grand Hall. This build was perhaps 85-90% of my combined KS2 and KS6 cavern tiles along with all the cliff and ruins tiles from KS6. I used the breakout wall from the Burrows for where the Trogs punched thru to the surface realm. It is ...

Re: 4d Terrain from Wizkids no serious competition for Dwarven Forge!

One of the things that kept me away from any substantial investment in game tiles for a long time was that the game table was a temp set up in the family room each session and broken down and stored between play sessions. Meant things had to be simpler due to space and storage. When we built the hom...

Re: Cool and different stretch goal system?!

I am pretty disillusioned with DF stretch goals and do not really want to rehash things again, but I hope DF is not as heavy handed with them as they have been the last few campaigns. I am not sure if tying the stretch goals to time is a better solution, it is just another way of deciding what to r...

Re: SCI FI sets

Now that is some serious Empire firepower. :D I used to have two of them babies on the top shelf, but was never using them (one never even came out of the box) and I ended up selling them for around 4x what I had paid when they came out. There was one wholesaler that offered 2 for 1 pricing ...

Re: Revenge of the Troglodytes

Thanks all. Since I still have it set up on the table, I am going to take some more detailed shots of the various elevations and bridges in the Grand Hall. Those were the most fun to figure out and to plan how defenders would defend them.
