Re: 4d Terrain from Wizkids no serious competition for Dwarven Forge!

Just a few small quality issues so far with the WK tiles. On one of the sets I have (Tudor style) they have some corner posts with a tab that has (had) small nubs/prongs on the side to insert into wall segment or corner to fill out a structure. Almost all of mine had a very snug fit going into the r...

Re: 4d Terrain from Wizkids no serious competition for Dwarven Forge!

Also, Zenako, I respectfully think that you are consistently underestimating the real cost of DF vs. Warlock Tiles. I've mentioned that for international buyers like me, not a small market, the difference is stark. But even in America, WT are frequently heavily discounted, where DF never is. But on...

Re: 4d Terrain from Wizkids no serious competition for Dwarven Forge!

Godofwar, a pure piece count does not adequately compare the two systems. For a 2" hallway, for example, you need 2 Wizkid tiles (Floor and Wall) vs 1 DF tile. For a corner you need 3 or Wizkid tiles (1 floor, 2 walls) vs 1 DF corner tile. My cost comparison is based on looking at how much of t...

Re: tabletop world graveyard ks live

Well the new piece for the last SG is a nice one. Gonna bump up the pledge to get it "free" and save the rest for the PM later. The KS did get a small burst this morning after the latest update showed off the Kings Mausoleum today. Since I did not get more DF castles in the BotM promotion,...

Re: 4d Terrain from Wizkids no serious competition for Dwarven Forge!

I have to agree with Talistran on this a lot. The single biggest issue is availability. Wizkids is a closed-loop and can time also time their new stuff to match new gaming modules or promotions rather easily. Even if they have some amount of lead time, it is clearly a much shorter one than DF has to...

Re: April Build of the Month - Wyvern Watch Castle

Well, that was a nice success for DF. Now they just have to have more sets in stock for those new castle owners to expand with. (Although those BotM packs/offerings were pretty good on the flexibility front compared to the older castle sets.) For me, that just shifts some funds this month to some ot...

Re: Dwarvenite For Sale

I have made sure my wife knows about a few places to contact about all my collectibles if something ever happened. A couple of Gaming Shops we have been dealing with, some local dealers and of course folks in some places like this.

Re: Docks... and beaches!

Keep in mind that beaches are really just shorelines and that can easily be expanded to sandy river edges, rocky coasts, small stream inlets, etc and even stone piers and docks. The interface between land and water is all over the place and offers tons of options for biomes and creation.

Re: KS8 pricing

Perhaps the key sculptors at TTW have limited real-world construction experience about doing actual repairs. More of a design thing than an engineering thing for them. They do have a pretty consistent look overall on the town buildings which I like.

Re: (Kickstarter) Lasting Tales... the newest KS from Blacklist Games

Not that worried on that end about shipping and storage but I do fear getting the minis and then having them just join the hundreds (if not thousands) of other minis sitting on shelves waiting to be painted for years or longer. (I still have boxes of minis from Bones 1 unpainted.)
