Re: Leave no bean behind...
I’m not sold on the roof shingle sizes. I like the idea behind their shape but the tiles seem rather large, like why would I want to have shingle tiles on my roof the size of a small table that could fall off and kill me? I understand the shape needed to best fit the modularity requirements, but the...

Re: Figuring out waterfalls
The challenge of just using a different paint scheme is that the actual magma surface does not really look all that much like actual water, even in rapids. Too many really blunted corners and bumps that reflect the dramatic difference in viscosity between the two. Sure it wouldn't look right as wat...

Re: Wildlands WIP - Forests (Trees)
Good variety of colors, looking good! I agree, that cypress has a lot of smaller leaf bunches which make painting a more involved process, as you have to get the undersides as well.

Re: What sets did you miss out on and plan to pick up?
I will be picking up some waterfalls and some of the special escarpment pieces once they're in the store, and maybe some extra terrain trays as I was really pleased with the raging river ones.

Re: HOLY MOLY!!! 2x2 MBS coming in Dwarvenite!?
The addition of CBS holes in the floor for post pegs has me less excited about this... I already have 3 sets of MBS and 2 of the advanced MBS, along with a bunch of CBS tudor and stone buildings. The wood style is nice, and maybe with some easy green stuffing and my own paint I'd be able to fill the...

Re: Focused Feedback: Teardrop Inserts
In hindsight, I wonder what a "snaps into a small recess from the top of the tile instead of a hole from underneath" would have looked like. Basically, each tile with a teardrop would have something inserted into a same-size shape recess on the top of the tile, with a small hole in the rec...

Re: Focused Feedback: Teardrop Inserts
I don't understand why DF just didn't make 3"x3" tiles with the teardrop pieces baked in already. Have one with a tree stump, one with a spike trap pit, sunken pool, etc. We already have pieces to fill in the 3x3 footprint, so why not lean into the purpose of the grid? Make a plain 6x6 flo...

Re: Survey out for KS8?
My main issue now that I'm 3D-printing a lot of buildings is my DF City Builder looks somewhat dated and too boxy. There's no way to accomplish overhanging roofs, upper stories, bay windows, or any sort of diagonals or curves to add variety. I also enjoy a more sagged-roof look for medieval building...

Unopened Unpainted Castles Watchtower Pledge For Sale
Hey all, I have an unopened unpainted Watchtower pledge from the Castles Kickstarter I'm looking to sell. It includes all the accompanying stretch goals. I'm looking for $175 + cost of shipping from Colorado. This set is currently out of stock in the web store, and I don't need the extra pieces righ...

Re: iPaint's Dreadhollow - Finally, but not nearly fully, painted
Thanks everyone. The paint process is easily over 20 steps or so, but well worth the time in my opinion. I don't have all the paints on hand as they're packed away for an early December house move, but I'll be sure to post here again once I get them out. It's basically a coat of dark chocolate brown...
