Re: Dungeon with KS1 and KS5 tiles together

I'm a fan of low-lighting photos, and these builds are inspirations. I like the circular focal point especially. {I'm glad that I bought some extra curved walls, that's for sure. Those are going to go FAST when they make it to the shop.}

Re: Help! Need Advice About Painting My Castles

Just to be clear, those latter pics aren't mine (mine are dated 08/21 and 8/23), they are username: pacarat's colorful choices. All of mine are standard Pokorny. While I agree that pacarat's colors are a bit bright for realistic depictions, I like the adornment as a flashy merchant's home or, hey, a...

Re: Help! Need Advice About Painting My Castles

I myself am not a grout master. In the long run, however, I would think that grout is too brittle and might fracture and crumble whereas a flexible paint medium is closer to plastic or rubber. {I saw footage of an earthquake once where tile grout basically exploded into showers of powder.} Acrylic i...

Re: Painting red pillars is a pain

I have been using a prime coat of black gesso on the columns and vaulting, and I've also used the deep water green, both work, as well as base gray, but I am using iridescent bronze and copper as the top coat. So I am not sure whether the lava would cover the very matte black gesso in one coat, but ...

Scoop-sided watchtower using sewer pieces

Not sure if this design has already been proposed or not, so forgive the repetition if so. This tower would be difficult to climb and thus quite defensible; however, the top structure is vulnerable. Also, the standard paint technique for sewer pieces probably wouldn't work well. It's just an additio...

Add a Cistern

In addition to sewers, a cistern -- for "fresh" water collection -- might be a useful encounter area utilizing sewer pieces without sluice ways.

Re: Help! Need Advice About Painting My Castles

Going Grout I decided about a year ago to grout my outer stone walls. The results were good for castle and city and aid photography, in my opinion. I did use the technique on a couple of "indoor" pieces like the sewer and dungeon pieces, but I like the shadowing effect of no grout for ever...
