Re: Where do you buy the minis?

Sigh. I'd be a lot more excited about Mythras if there were more characterful miniatures to play it with. Nothing scares players as properly as oddly specific miniatures. Giant sewer warden with spade for instance...

Re: Thoughts on painted vs unpainted

Toothpicks if you're really careful. Takes forever since you get so little paint but its very precise.

Re: Thoughts on painted vs unpainted

Every miniature project ever does this. DF is by far the closest to "final product." Its pretty awkward with the tight scheduling pushing against hard scheduling barriers from prototype to manufacturer's prototype to production. Then we get "surprises" like the catapult (hilarious disaster but fixed...

Re: Thoughts on painted vs unpainted

Hard to see less as a benefit. Sounds to me you haven't bought enough then! When your collection grows large enough you forget you have things, can't imagine where to put new stuff, and get frowned at by your spouse... then less is a benefit. Quality of shopping experience. The point where you real...

Another advantage of getting painted is it is a lot easier to store less too!

Now I want to replay Sam & Max Hit the Road and regret not getting stoopid dawgies too. Thanks everyone.

Re: What add-ons in the PM have you committed to?

I primarily use DF for one-offs so I build a visually appealing map and then figure out what it all means. CD really boosts how much I can do in that vein with caverns so I'm very set on getting weird pieces and as much elevation as I can afford after broadening my general use collection. It is odd ...

I've been hiding from my spreadsheets where they can't find me.

Pledged Essentials 1-6, definitely picking up Dreadhollow and nearly all the adventure packs. Want everything else but will be focusing on building pieces with the remaining pennies.

Re: Small DoD with epic spiral stair

So many really excellent geometry ideas in this build. Wonderful. A superb showcase for "making do" with reasonable numbers of specialty pieces into "incredible dungeon." I've mixed Castle and Dungeon pieces, and I admit the look didn't bother me much. Not hugely photogenic and the difference is agg...
