Re: KS3 Things to look forward to

Alleys for sure - straight narrow interior, and entrance/exit into regular street.

A diagonal street piece would be great. How many medieval (fantasy, too) streets look like what used to be cow paths, with totally crazy, mazelike twists and turns. Think Thieves World, Diagon Alley, etc, etc.

Re: The Apothecary - WIP

Debating on how to fix containers to shelving, desktops, etc. Most of my stuff is pinned down the center axis, for support, etc. I may also look at using some very heavy guage nylon fishing line. That would remove the round head of needles. Sometimes it looks good, other times not. The 64 Lupin ques...

Re: KS3 4x2 floor

As an AFOL, I totally get the strength of interlocking pieces. If you had 2x4 floors and then had 2x wall pieces, you could really have some variety and strength. Think of half walls coming out perpendiculat to the outer house wall. Might need more holes set into the molds, but think that would be ok.

Re: The Apothecary - WIP

Thanks, all. I really like what you've done jchunick, the cork and hot glue techniques are spot on. I found some cork beads, but it never occurred to me to cut my own, and I do own an industrial strength punch kit (!) Those holes have been bugging me and I was drawing a blank on how to fix them. I'l...

Patience, Grasshopper...

All will be revealed in due time, say in the next three weeks or so.

If you wander over to the town square, maybe sooner... 8-)

The Apothecary - WIP

Time to restock Pacarat's Apothecary Shoppe with potions, perfumes and elixirs. Playing around with some bead and jewelry bits. Planning to build some custom shelving and counters. I need to touch up some of the stoppers, and do a little repaint here and there. http://home.comcast.net/~pacarat/pics/...

Re: KS1 Dungeon Tile Velcro Mod

Yep, any wedges would break that system. Maybe a smaller "footprint" for the raised spacers, more like pegs. I may have to get some of my Lego out and see if i can rig something there. I dont expect this system to cover 100% of the layout, but if I could prebuild all the major rooms/ buildings /cave...

Re: KS1 Dungeon Tile Velcro Mod

You've got me thinking - outside the box now. What about putting a raised grid on the foamcore (or whatever) transport/layout boards. Use spacers (say craft foam) and glue squares on to the board in a grid patter, so that tiles rest over the raised pieces. The well under the tile fits over the space...
