What is the purpose of this nub on the bottom of the waterfalls?

This little nub/bump is kind of bugging me. It makes the waterfalls rest crooked, and this one's already messed up the gloss coat on one of my river tiles. Is there some secret use for it? Otherwise I'm cutting it off. All 4 of my waterfalls have it... http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z253/fukifin...

Re: Took the caverns plunge. . .

Forest, What's that huge water piece at the lower right of the first pic??? The Least Weasel A piece of 4x4 masonite. I painted up two of them to test out the various gloss options. That particular one was what sold me on the Triple Thick spray. But I may actually try to modify it to work with the ...

Re: The big Tudor Painting question...

Sounds like a workable solution to me. Myself, when painting terrain, I typically start with dark colors and drybrush my way up to the lights and add washes/final highlights at the end. So personally I'd probably start with something like cardboard or even as dark as earthstone on the daub/plaster, ...

Re: Took the caverns plunge. . .

I love the elevation blocks. In retrospect I wish I had bought the standard elevation pack (with the stairs) instead of just the block pack, but the blocks themselves are super useful. They add extra "floor space" to a large room, as well as interesting tactical options, and just another level of vi...

Re: Gloss Coating KS2 Water Tiles?

I posted this on one of the FB groups, but I'll share it here in case anyone else is interested: If anyone is interested, here are the steps I used if you're looking to replicate the water. Paints Used: Pokorny Deep Water Green (DWG) Pokorny Shallow Water/Seaweed Green (SWG) Vallejo Game Color Elect...

Re: Gloss Coating KS2 Water Tiles?

Thanks, William! I know the blue isn't for everyone, and it doesn't really make any sense. But I liked the aesthetic of the original DF tiles with the blue, and I figure I can chalk it up to the fantasy setting. ;) I'd still like to go back and fill in the pools and put a slightly thicker layer alon...

Re: Took the caverns plunge. . .

Your multilevel builds are truly inspiring, Law. It's funny, I can see how the older resin sets influenced the new Dwarvenite sets, but it only highlights the shortcomings of the 2x2 footprint (or highlights the advantage of the 4x4, depending on if you're a glass half full kind of person). I really...

Re: Gloss Coating KS2 Water Tiles?

OK, I tried Modge Podge and some Ultra Heavy gel I had laying around, and I wasn't happy with either for the look. I knew the Ultra Heavy would be wrong (since I bought it for rough water effects) but even the Modge Podge still had brush strokes. I had some people recommend Krylon Triple Thick, and ...

Re: My Ice Caverns

I agree, that frozen river looks really great and sells the frosty cold look of the entire set. Very nice!
