Re: Impressions so far of Wildlands Kickstarter

I'm also noticing that while there is a lot of piece variety, there are very few of each piece. Looking at Wyverstone Peak (because it's really the only big set I'm interested in), there are 14 large floors, but then every other piece is 1x, 2x, or 3x. The set is very "broad" but not "...

Re: Impressions so far of Wildlands Kickstarter

IMO, we have a lot of "extras" and WAY too much theatre that are driving up the costs of a product line. I have to agree, I think overhead is crushing their costs. More artists, higher production value videos, streaming content, voice work by Matt Mercer...all that costs money. Also, they...

Re: Impressions so far of Wildlands Kickstarter

But it would frankly not surprise me if this Kickstarter sells more 3D printers than it does DF sets. At some point value has to be part of the equation. And that will show that DF's decision to go for big artist quality and incredible durable terrain was a mistake. We shall see. I don't think they...

Re: Impressions so far of Wildlands Kickstarter

It is certainly OK for you to sit out a DF KS, that is how I felt about castles, if it had not been for the Erinthor Mountains I likely would have sat it out other than a token pledge. And as pretty as Hellscape is to look at my pledge for it was not much more than a token pledge since I did not se...

Re: Impressions so far of Wildlands Kickstarter

$82 for two trees and 3-4 small scatter. OOF.

$600 for some big & small scatter on a 2x2 mostly empty board...OOF OOF!!!

I like the new mountain pieces, but I'm out until they hit retail. I'm just not into this KS.

Re: Wildlands pledging and total spending

I guess I'm the outlier. I'm not very excited about this KS, and the shots I have seen so far look kind of "uninspired" to me. More scatter and banks, but swampy this time! Meh. The swamp trees look droopy, low detail, and like blobs of melted plastic to me. The waterfall could be very coo...

Re: Large Crenellations

I see the large crenellations are still in stock, so I guess everybody got what they needed with no drama? If so that's great!

dice4hire wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2020 7:58 am That was my impression. I could get at least two unpainted sets from DF for that price.
Yup, and you could buy a big, cheap plastic dragon from Reaper for $20-30 or so and paint it in the lava style for the one game you'll use it.
