I really hope "And we're offering a few more existing sets in alternate paint colors to maximize your options" means that the crystal caverns and underdoom will be offered in standard painted cavern colors.

I find the painting relaxing and a great way to get through audio books and podcasts. That said I usually end up with a blend my kids want to play with a bunch right away so getting a good cross section painted lets me do that. Then for misc add-ons I go unpainted because of cost and relaxation.

I wonder if dwarvenite would lend itself to articulation. The Lego Friends figures are waist-articulated which lends itself to standing/sitting, but they're also much bigger and use a stiffer harder plastic.
