Re: Floating Terrain
I've been fascinated by floating terrain pieces for a while now but haven't had a chance to play around. I don't know if you guys remember the game Fanticide? Unfortunately they've closed their doors. They had a really cool table set up for The Fountains of Grod . The floating bit was held up by res...

Re: Best Orcs
AnimeSensei mentioned MiddleEarth style orcs. Games Workshop has a large line of very nice LotR style orcs of different types. The plastic kits are very reasonably priced and worth a look. Here is an example: Mordor Orcs https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Mordor-Orcs https://www.games-workshop.com...

Re: Best Orcs
Also, of note. There is a Kickstarter running right now that has some orcs unlocked and hopefully more to come. They are based on the orcs from the 1980s D&D cartoon. I like them but they may not be to your taste. Dungeon Explorers - 28mm Miniatures for Gamer's and RPG's https://www.kickstarter....

Re: Best Orcs
I'm a big fan of the old school aesthetic and really like Otherworld miniatures. Their trolls, ogres, and gnolls are spot on. Their orcs are fun but perhaps a little goofy. I've picked up the pig-faced orcs from Mortal Arrow (used to be Fractured Dimensions) and I really like them. http://www.mortal...

Re: Mark Wells aka dungeonmastermark - Knowingly Sold Unlicensed Copies
Josh - I picked up a few from Secret Weapon about a year ago. They use grey resin and the casts are high quality (no bubbles). I'm not sure if you would contact Secret Weapon or Dark Art Miniatures...?

Re: Mark Wells aka dungeonmastermark - Knowingly Sold Unlicensed Copies
Justin McCoy runs Secret Weapon Miniatures. Swell guy. He picked up the Malice line within the last year or two. I'm sure he'll want to hear about counterfeit castings of these pieces. You can find his contact information on the Secret Weapon website. Update: It looks like Secret Weapon sells these ...

Re: Painting: Primer Question
@Oldent - It's possible. The wash was one of the final steps on a piece painted with Reaper paints. I was able to get rid of the tackiness with a brush on matte varnish but it added another step. I ended up abandoning the wash.

Re: Painting: Primer Question
I know what you're saying. It also feels weird not to wash the pieces first but it's been working well for me. Maybe if you played with the unpainted pieces a lot before painting them, oil from your fingers might cause some problems but I've not encountered any issues. It's definitely a different be...

Re: Painting: Primer Question
Hello FattyLumpkin. Dwarvenite doesn't require primer. In fact, it doesn't even need to be washed first. It holds paints really well but be sure to use one of the recommended paint brands or do a sample piece if you want to use something else. The Pokorny paints are specially designed for painting d...
