The Chief Least Weasel of Valoria (Pretendant) Totus KS Delenda Sunt , including KS7 Haha, thanks for the compliment but I am the farthest one could possibly be from a professional artist! I'm actually in IT on the networking side of things. I never too...

Re: Large Crenellations

Hmm...I wrote a whole long reply, and hit send, aaaaand...it's gone. Suffice to say, I wasn't attacking Anime or anybody else, it just raises my libertarian hackles when people tell others how they "ought" to behave or what they "should" do with their money. It's all good, we all...

Re: Large Crenellations

AnimeSensei... Nobody is trying to personally screw you so so can't have what you want. People act in their own interest, not to thwart the interests of others. These are not people that personally hate you. Take the emotion out of this. Why do only business owners get to have economic interests?? D...

Re: Large Crenellations

Animei, why is it unethical to buy and resell at a higher price? You do exactly that all the time. In fact, every commercial seller does that - all the time. They would not provide the goods otherwise. TLW To me it's unethical to knowingly create a lack of product for someone so I can then utilize ...

Re: Large Crenellations

You're right, it's not an economic thing, it's a legal thing and in a disaster it's illegal. Well, governments are fond of making laws that fly in the face of reality and reason. Being illegal doesn't make something immoral or "wrong". Unless you think it's immoral to operate a child's le...

Re: Large Crenellations

This is why "price gouging" is not really a thing, economically speaking. There are only market prices. For example, take gasoline during a disaster. If price stays the same as pre-disaster price (let's say $2/gallon), long lines form as consumers fill up every container they can in antici...

Re: Large Crenellations

Yes, scarcity to the consumer. If price is too low, the vendor will have no stock as it flies off the shelf.

If Apple had a sale on iPhones for $100, do you think you could get one after the first hour of the sale? You might get one for $300 on eBay...

Re: Large Crenellations

Let's be clear about markets. If most gamers are willing to pay $20 for a piece of plastic, and DF prices that piece at $12, then the piece is underpriced for the market, and so they will fly off the shelves at DF and be resold at higher prices. Likewise if DF prices the piece at $25, it's likely th...
