This sounds like a job for Erinthor mountains and cliff pieces on one side, and cavern elevations and stairs on the other. Still plenty of opportunity to make additional bits like figureheads and naval rams and bowsprits, but keeping the basic pieces as simple and generic as possible is frequently a good way to go.

Why not cut the “prow” (the “masthead” is the highest point on a mast, not part of the hull) into port and starboard diagonal walls with a 2”x1” footprint?
