Good eye, Riley! The Salt Marsh manor was indeed my inspiration.

Am I imagining a bit of inspiration from The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh?

Very nice! I love that map, but have thus far failed to reproduce it in DF to my satisfaction.

I bought them during the kickstarter and more afterwards. I like them, but am not happy that the scale was way off from the town guard, since I painted some townguard up with the same blue scheme before the castles shipped.

Do any of you own the Castle Defenders Miniatures? Did you get them during the kickstarter, or did you purchase them after? Please tell me your honest thoughts on them.
I bought both caste defenders as well as the town guard in the webstore.
(My relationship with DF startet one year ago, unluckily I missed all the cool KS 1-5)

IMO the town guard is much much more versatile. Additionally I was surprised that the castle defenders have a different size than the town guard minis. (I did not measure but I assume town guard is 28mm scale and castle defender 25 or even less?)
I don't know why this decision was made but you asked for honest feedback, that something I don't like about them.
Maybe that the reason I have only painted the towns guard minis so far...?

Beside the different size I like the design of caste defender minis. That was the reason I bought them.

I hope that feedback helps you.
more than 2,800 self painted dwarvenite pieces :)

Castle defenders been on the want list ever since the KS, but have a lot of Medieval/Fantasy soldiers, but we do like that they are posed to defend from the top of a castle wall, but as we think AS alludes too, it makes them less flexible in non Castle siege encounters.

I bought them in the KS but haven't ever used them in a game. I can see them being used in a diorama or a castle siege scenario, but I use the town guards Df put out a lot more. Dunno why. Maybe an overlap?

I will always love those snakey stairs.

Very fun, I love all of the tiny bits!

Just a FYI, the forums have a glitch that cause pics to fall off if you preview first. It's part of the reason (I assume) we are getting a new website soon.
