Well, sadly Version-3 is no longer... :(

Trystan will be moving on to larger pastures.
I had to destroy this layout to get ready for a proper sized build table. I've been slacking for well over a decade. The plan was to wow some of the newbies, but with what these new addicts bring to the table I ,may just disappoint myself with what I can do. I'm sure it'll fine and hope to show off some new adaptations of different things. I was shocked there was no question about a certain thing going on in this last version. It will be pointed out in the future. ;)

Last shot from V-3 ...

Thanks, most of the greenery you see on this latest version was purchased off eBay as a box full of miniature plant materials to make whatever you want and about 8 or 9 finished "trees". They are more like large bushes, but they were made for an 'O' scale train set-up. After pricing some of these items over the years at Michael's, Jo-Anne's and pet stores I figured it was a prudent purchase. There is a lot more than what is shown. I had also not adjusted any as of that post of pictures. Next one will have some differences, but I have a trip planned between now and then, so it'll be a few weeks before more pictures of Tristan's Towers show up.

I really like some of the Fairy Garden items. It's too bad so many are out of scale for use in these layouts, unless the scene is of giants or trolls. ;)

Love all the greenery in your latest build William! You arrangements makes everything look very natural. Did you modify the plants in any way or did they look like that out of the box?

Big thanks again for pointing out the craft store fairy garden pieces. I dropped my car off recently for an oil change and there was a Jo-Ann's across the street. I decided to go in search of fairy gardens and, not only did I find some, they were also on clearance. I look forward to using them in a woodlands setup.

Fairy gardens...the latest in a string of hobby/collectible lines that feed my addiction :D

That is some super high stacking indeed. Good thing those blocks can hold 45kg each.

Great use of the blocks!!!!!

Fabulous build William.

Love the inverted 4" to 6" tower - was on my list to try :)

There are some nice visuals that I had not imagined giving it a unique look - especially like the use of crenellations half way up the square tower (Trystans Towers N018.JPG ). They are of no use as crenellations but look great :)

I like the use of straight and curved stairs - used them together in one of my builds, they look better than you'd think.

There is so much in the pictures that they need more scrutinization to unpick all the goodies.

Surprising how well unpainted works .... eerie.

good job keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the info!! I'm always on the lookout for resin trees since they don't shed like the foam/flocked trees. Lots of other fun bits in these collections that would work well with DF.

Also swung by Micheals and picked up those Thatched looking round roofs on the towers in last version. ;)

Very creative use of pieces William. I particularly like the use of curved and straight stairs to make a sort of grand stairway leading to the tower.

You mentioned that trees were from MBA and Jo-Ann's Fabrics. Can I ask where the bonsai looking tree is from (like the one to the left of the fancy stairs)?
Thanks Feymous, that tree (or those) are from Jo-Ann's Fabrics in their Fairy Garden area.
