Great memories of seeing Laws, Talistrans and patransoms fabulous builds from last year.
So much creativity in this forum as Arcarius2001 and realarete show us again - great jobs

Need to look at home to see GDMs dropbox pictures.

Castles were and still are our favourite KS, as we knew from day 0 of the KS what we wanted to build. It made life so much easier deciding what we needed, which as it turned out, was a lot!



But we also got parapets, bridges and double thick walls and so we built some more











We cant add much to what already been said
We love our castles and have so many more builds we want to make incorporating CBS and now DoD, just finding the time to make them and get the kids to trash them

Are we going to see this surrounded by Forests in a year?

Hahaha.

I don't have plans to buy THAT much forest.

What are the clear green tanks in the distillery? I have been looking for something like those.

I turned mine green with this: https://www.amazon.com/Design-Master-Tr ... pray+paint

They are really just sample jars with some MDF bits to make them look more scifi. Pretty ingenious design, really. I've been meaning to figure out where they got the jars from so I could make different colored tanks on the same base...

I remember when you first posted these, Talistran. I kept a few and have always planned to go back and copy this build, or at least parts of it. Sadly, I had just put away my Castles when these came up and I haven’t had the energy since. But I absolutely love the way you did this. It feels like exactly the kind of castle I wanted to make - a “not a big square” funky thing full of interesting angles. Great use of the parapets and cathedral roof (and the gargoyle posts!). I have to try this.

@Talistran - Wow, the scale of those city/castle builds are so impressive! I love the crenelated bridge, the inner keep with the war camp - it's all so cool!

I can only dream that someday I'll have the budget and space to do something similar...oh yeah, and the time for setup and tear down.

Frankly lack of time is one of the biggest challenges for fully enjoying the DF I already have.

I really like how a change of accessories make for a very scary castle...



I like creating multiple level, no square/rectangle keeps. I used two advanced builder 2x4 floors and half roofs from CBS to offset this one.

I love using the bridges with crenellations to make guard walkways.

And I love how adding something as simple as a single wall all away around a village creates a sense of grandeur.
