Beautiful Law!

Minis all look great; well sculpted, dynamic poses, and excellent paint jobs. As always, your setup composition and POV shots are inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Great paint jobs giving a shed load of synergy with your DoD builds in those picture Law, it really makes them more organic and dynamic.

Cracking Job :)

These look great! My goal is to get my DF photography skills leveled up to at least 1/4 your level. Currently I am sitting at level 1.

Yes again, excellent work. I always love your clsoe-in shots. The wide views are ok, but I see a lot of those, but rarely do I see such well composed close-in shots.

WOW - awesome paint work - i agree the weathered faced dwarf really shines but there is a lot to get excited about here:

the iron maiden has nice attention to detail - could have just been a base and a wash and it would have been fine... but yours is outstanding - it is the mark of a truly psychotic torturer that he polishes his equipment - a professional treats his tools with respect

clerics robes - oh my!

and the armored knight - there are eyes behind that helm!!!! (or at least lines that give the impression of eyes) - it is hard to paint detail in recesses

nice work - you are making me want to paint and that is always a compliment

Dungeon of Doom crypt with Nolzur figures

Post by Law » Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:06 pm

So I picked up some Nolzur figures to paint, and the City of the Dead set of monuments and tombs. Decided to throw together a very quick Dungeon of Doom crypt. I swapped things around a lot as I worked, and I never got a full shot of my favorite version (which was very similar to this one, only it had four smaller alcoves on the highest level, with a central corridor and a single small statute in the center).

And for a morbid touch, one basement corridor has prison cells and leads to a torture chamber. I wrestled with whether or not to pick up the Nozlur torture equipment, but in the end I decided it would be a neat (albeit gruesome) way to add some variety. And it does make for a cool (albeit gruesome) touch, particularly with the sluice grate in the center of the room. That's an ominous hint of what to expect in here.

I really like how the Nolzur figures came out - some of these are, IMO, the best painting I've ever done. I really like the dwarf in brown, the way his face came out is easily the best result I've ever had.
