Dig the brains 8-) ..., the duckie is,... um,... fitting :? (shoulder shrug) :?:
Fun stuff, are the sideways terrain trays just to clean up outer look?

Thanks for the post. :)

Cracking build Dragos - Epic in fact :)

We did chuckle over the massive dice, thought a player might have got a little carried away win an enlarge spell.

Xanthar already looks fab, cannot wait to see it painted up:)

Waterfalls would be cool for KS7, we do not have any.

Not convinced still, flat and 'expensive' water tiles are any great shakes better than a terrain tray aesthetically, all it adds for us is a grid that we do not want. Shore tiles are a different proposition and great for streams and small rivers.

If it is the glossy shine DooFers like for the occasions lakes/ponds look shiney, then slap a piece of acetate over a terrain tray - like DF did at GenCon last year.

OK that is not going to convince anyone but its still an option ;)

Hope DF do water tiles for you lot, but if they do they will be lambasted for making the KS too big with sculpts for features they already have covered - but that's the way of the world.

In light of the Lavafall (magmafall?), including a proper Waterfall in KS7 seems like a no-brainer.

Now, along those lines, I was also expecting 4x4 water tiles (in addition to negative space water p-filters). Given the popularity of the resin 4x4 water pieces, I'm surprised DF would shy away from making them in dwarvenite. If there's a good reason not to, I'm all ears - but if they're just waiting for us to start howling about it... Arrwhoooooo!

We will just have to wait and see. I wouldn't take my second-hand info as gospel just yet. The big positive take-away was that waterfalls are a distinct possibility for the future.

He seemed to say that wildlands water would still be more terrain tray negative space focused.

That is sad to hear. New water tiles is about all that I am interested in.
I am interested in both water tiles and shorelines for negative space liquids but I am not surprised DF is leaning toward negative space for the huge layouts of wildlands. Though I really wish they would come up with something more aesthetic for large bodies of water. I do not know if super high quality game mats with glossy over lays are the answer, or 12"x12" tiles with 1/4" clear Dwarvenite over painted Dwarvenite are, or terrain trays that are not cloth covered but are black powder coated and then painted and glossed over, or some other option.

IMO terrain trays work pretty OK for small lay outs but once you have huge lakes or long rivers 12"x12" cloth covered trays are no more or are less appealing than a sea of 2"x2" water tiles. DF has to keep the costs down but keep the aesthetics up.
