I am sorry but i totally missed everything else you posted.
Predictable

But as the list of backer demands were shown in the Hellscape Intro video DF are well aware of the demand for new sculpted tiles so its not beyond the realms of possibility that they create magma riveresque fast flowing stream or river tiles.

We just prefer they did something new is all.
I think that ship has sailed... and will forever be trapped on a square lake with flat edges, but i keep asking out of principle ;)
I humbly disagree. I think if they ever revisit caverns we have a shot. But I can also see DF doing an entire cavern water redesign as well. It brings in more variety and more sales. :)

Outside of a few specific examples like Dreadhollow, I don't foresee any "expansions" coming from DF anymore. I think we'll get new versions of similar environments.

For instance, if we revisit City Builder, I'd bet we get new stone and tudor wall sculpts that are compatible, but we won't get a small subset of the KS where it's just an expansion without a base set anymore.

The solution here is water tiles... ;)
Only if you have a LOT of money. Do you see how much open water is in that build? A lot of the areas are 8" or more across.
Real rough guess count was 111 2x2 tiles - 28 in the water pack, 16 in open water - 3@60 and 2@46 = 272 (painted)

Counting the banks it looks like at least 5 sets (5 concave corners and at least 10 long banks) - 5@49 = 245 (painted)

so six of one half a dozen of the other - the banks get the benefit of KS pricing, vs retail for the water tiles
they did the math

But seriously, for moderately large builds, banks don't seem to save on costs....

Existing water tiles do not give you a waterfall transition, which is what we believe is required in this example as tiles and TT/mat will just show flat calm water.

A water effect could be used, like the CD whirlpool for TT/mats.

Or of course a new set of water tiles could be sculpted and include a water fall and water fall transition tile.

Or for both you could have a splash sculpt in the same vein as the brambles in DH. Where they can be placed between the mat or the water tile and the bottom of the waterfall.

We like our water tiles but they are nowhere near as flexible as banks and TTs/mats.
The debate is that they look better than TTs or mats, that’s clearly in the eye of the beholder. We are undecided on that as for shiny water tiles the natural grid is hard to ignore and lets not get into their scale ;)
They are really good for small pools, especially on elevated builds.

I do wish they made something that made this look better thou

the water transition makes the escarpment squared corners sticking up from the water look funny.
