I just finished my first cavern wall and I wanted to share and get opinions on the colors. Thanks.

Respectfully while I think this one tile is pretty... I think that in a large layout those particular colors (green, brown, tan) are going to look like a camouflage pattern.

I really like the tones in the rock, but I think the stalactites and the calcium deposits are a bit too yellow. I think if you swapped the yellow for a more sandy brown, it'd meld better with the other colors. I like the subtle gold tones.

Not sure how I'm gonna paint the fungus yet.

I think the colors are very nice. The kind of striping pattern of the brown I think is what gave the poster the camo feel.

Thanks for the advice/opinions. Part of the problem is that these pictures were taken with the flash on, so the colors stand out more than in normal room lighting. I'm not sure I like the purple, myself. Its too bright I think. Maybe if I mix in some gray to give it a duller look. I was trying to keep the whole look from being too brown which is why I added the green. But it may be a little too much. If I scale it back to one or two spots of green, it might look less camo. I first tried a red, but really didn't like the results. I'm also thinking that the middle tone for the dry brushing needs to be a bit darker, so the highlights pop more.
There's actually metallic gold lines on the piece, but the camera didn't pick them up very well. You can kind of see them here. (sorry about the blurry pics)

I touched up this piece a bit and removed some of the green. I also dulled the yellow and purple. Finally I took pictures on a white background without the flash. How's it look now?

Try lavender dry brush on the purple. I like the gold. I found some gold nugget like glitter I might use. I like the yellow but an ivory dry brush might add a little. I like some of the wild colors in some of the other post too. The paint style so far is very effective.

Rock and caverns look different all over the country so it really is up to your vision of how you see them. The ivory or a white dry brush from KS1 might lighten the yellow a bit, very light. As Stephan says just a dusting.
