NICE! - Glad somebody is productive!

I have a bunch and washed the snow off of half of them - still need to paint the bases and add washers (they are light and tippy), but i don't have a lot of time to craft - those trees were too good a deal to pass up so i bought a bunch, more than i needed - they were included as packing material ;)

love the variety - i was skiing this week and marveling at just how many shades of green pine trees are - not sure i saw any quite that red though ;)
You just need to let your inner pyromaniac out to play a bit more......

Those trees are really nice! I would never have considered using the reds and yellows like that. I have a big pack of the frosted trees... might have to try that.

Did you remove the snow first? Is the color just applied like dry brushing?

Thanks!
I picked up a bunch of trees like this on closeout from Walmart after Christmas. If these are exactly same as mine, then the white stuff comes right off with some water and a toothbrush.

If nothing else, giving those trees a range of color makes them all the more suitable fantasy setting. Will have to give that a serious consideration for the trees I have that are similar with their chunky white snow globs on them.

I did not remove the snow.

It wa a kinda wet drybrush, pretty much done lightly till all the white was gone. It was pretty easy. I did do the bases in brown after the pictures were taken.

Thanks

I am hoping to paint some of my dreadhollow in similar colors, not just green.

Those trees are neat - Good color sampling, Dice.
They should offer some nice contrast when mixed in with Dreadhollow (much like a real forest ;) ).

Tossing in a bit of an off-topic post.

The Awesome Kitenerd sent me a very nice dragon and a bunch of trees from an American hobby shop.

Huge thanks!!!

Ill show off the dragon once my players characters are crushed beneath its feet but I painted up the trees and I think they came out well. They all originally had the snow frosted on them but I wanted moe vareity.

I had 16 so I did
4 in deep water green
4 in moss green
2 in lava yellow
2 in lava red
2 in lava orange and
2 in school bus.

Thinking up and remembering NPC names is far from my forte.

Or PC names for that matter. Probably 90% of my first PC and NPC names when i was a child was obscure place and village names from Illinois State, a map of which hung on the wall of my bedroom.
I grew up in Illinois - i have probably been to most of those obscure places ;)
