The party is still working towards closing the second portal and they decided to go after the devils area and then do the mountain area next. After a rest, they moved up to the gateway to the pocket dimension the devils were trapped in and the largest devil came up to try to make a deal, his freedom for the party's easy access to the portal. After much skill rolling the party decided to adventure up and kick his devisih fanny. An interesting idea was to send him after the white dragon they had fought earlier(another future adversary) as they did not care who won the fight as they were both enemies, but instead on to battle it was.

The first flurry of blows went well and the rogue ran for the throne to retrieve the energy needed for the third part of repairing the portal. He was chased by a couple of minions and the last two party members took on the main devil. who did well, but not well enough, especially with the party killing the spawning minions he needed to heal. It was a close fight, but it was decided in the party's favor

Then the party went to the back dias and looked at the "Im-not-really-an-angel". They found the back area was a prison meant to hold a single creature. And suddenly the rogue's parasite/possessor decided to finally leave the
rogue and become one with the prisoner, thus changing her enough so she could escape her prison.

AS two party members ran for the entrance to try and reset the field to keep her imprisoned, the Runepriest decided to hold her off, very successfully as it turned out The "angel" rolled two ones in a row and the Runepriest was able to escape.

And the party was very victorios. I had thought that the party would release one or maybe even two of these powerful beings and they would come back to haunt the party later, but the party left both imprisoned for good.

Off camera the portal was sealed and the party left victorious.

Thanks for the close ups, that's a cool dollar store item. :D
Yeah it was a lucky find. It fits perfectly on top of the small towers also, which is a plus.

We had a shortish session this week and did not get a lot done. We went to the fourth area and confronted the guardian, a celestial with celestial wolves to help keep people from opening the portal.

The wolves went down pretty quickly, but managed to do some damage, and then the party went past the guardian to the house that contained the first bit of energy needed to open the portal. They decided to drop off the energy at the original pool, butthe forest guardian did not want them to open the portal further and attacked. He was very powerful, butthe party was able to get by him and deliver the energy, mostly due to the Runepriest's ability to keep the guardian immobilized. The runepriest was hit twice, once for all but 2 of his hit points, and the second time for 75% of his hit points. Luckily he survived.

After the first part of the energy was delivered and the second part of the portal rose from the lake, the forest guardian stopped attacking and begrudgingly agreed to support the party as the deed was started, and could not be turned back. The party then conversed with the elemental (DF, natch) and he told them enough information for the party to plan out their next steps pretty well. Next session is on to the devils in the marble palace.

Not my math (though it could be, as my engineer spouse always tells me). I think I got a bad quote on the value of the yen...yes, that's a GOOD deal.
