I really like this one with the narrative... blade slowly advancing!
That was my favorite part too :D

Phase 2, built separately for convenience. After a big entry fight in the large rooms posted above, players advance to a really ugly puzzle hallway, because my players have been getting cocky and need to be reminded that they're made of perishable flesh.

The hallway looks innocent enough, aside from a large lever placed in the center, and a glowing sigil on the far wall.

Here it is with all the traps deployed. Not all the traps deploy at once. The lever only opens the pit trap. There are manacles there that animate and restrain living creatures, and the plinth with the slicing blade slowly advances forward.

Squeezing through the very narrow passage, while being blasted by gouts of flame, takes you to the sanctum entrance, guarded by a cauldron that launches fire attacks (as well as some construct or undead guards)

I expect the players will be quite happy to get to the boss fight after this point. Just a short jaunt, one room left to build. Should be fun.

I am looking forward to seeing how terrain trays work in use. I am still pretty sceptical about them. I await having my mind changed.
I've been using them for months, and this is why.

The negative space builds are great. The ways that I can dismantle and stack up my dungeon, and tonight bring out just the open door and continue building, and bring in one sheet at a time while players explore... Those are golden.

and THIS is why terrain trays are awesome! Forget the goofy sliding passage pieces under the edges... just load them up and slip and entire encounter in behind what is there!

LOVE this - looks like great fun
Yeah, encounter 6 was a weird sell job on trays. Hard to build and removes their main advantage. Plus, hanging islands in the middle of the tray made it hard to align everything. Just in general not a set-up that shows people how good they can be.

Nice :)

Easy pre build and keeps the players guessing until you slide the whole tray in - cool
