The woodland tiles are best used as accents.

They look good with the Mountain tiles too.

Law & Arcarius - those look AMAZING. All that resin just looks so nice , one piece flowing to the next. Those big resin parts help.

Now I’m going to have bring up my chasm sets and get building. Inspiring builds. Wow 8-)

Found the thread of woodland and resin lake sets mixed. Unfortunately the forum got corrupted so some random pics are here, too. But you can see my little island from years ago.

Woodlands is a beautiful set and plays well with the resin caverns. (Something I learned from Law and Feymous). Here’s something I did a while back, similar to realarete’s setup.

Sizing in Woodland never matterd to me...its WOODS, they aren't supposed to be regular. Woodland is another great some-time set, for variety.

Feymous used her woodlands for a great encounter in one of our games. IIRC, three separate ugly encounters in a small area...

Yes, those were some tense moments, but we made it through somehow! :D
True...the use of the Woodlands in those encounters established a mood very different from the house out of which we emerged into the woods. DM should remember theme and mood, as Feymous does.

Wow, how’d I miss THIS?

Those are great photos! GardenDM, I love your use of the Wilderness sets. I had the same idea about a cottage, but I’m waiting for Darkhollow to do it. In fact I’ve already got plans for about five different KSIII buildings in the woods - a small cottage, a witch’s hut, a mad wizard’s tower, a country church, and an abandoned stone shack.

And realarete, I absolutely love the use of wilderness tiles mixed with resin water. I’ll have to pull out my old layout that did a variation on that. Mine was more of an island, though - I really love this cavern! The water is so seamless with everything else. (And, Sigh, I am always reminded how much I prefer the resin stuff....)
