Excellent ideas everyone. Thank you!

Those ferns are really nice. I can't find them on the Michael's website though. :(

I might pick up those trees from Amazon... hmmm....

While no where near the quality of some of the others here, this is what I did to the sheets of greenery that I picked up cheap at Michaels.

Then there are shots of how I mounted some of those trees with an insertion stem at the bottom. Glued to a standard base that I drilled a hole thru and then affixing a steel washer to provide some balance. Quick, cheap and effective foliage for gaming.

What I do, and is one of the easiest, is to use insulation foam that you would cut hills out of, cut them down to the size that you want, and plug the palm tree into it. Grass and gravel as you would like. This is fast and easy. If it is too light, then push a washer into the base with hot glue. You can do a ton of trees this way in about an hour or so (very fast).
I agree. I would suggest using the Dollar tree foam board. It is easy to cut with a razor. The paper is very easy to remove.White glue and sand or saw dust is very sturdy when it drys.

I made the ice bases with the clay cutter.

I used Hirst Art cast for this batch.

Image

Some trees have pegs for the bases

Image

You may want to drill holes for the peg in the tiles. The Mountain tiles seem like a good candidate but some of the edge tiles could also work well.

Hiding the peg holes?
Fred made a set of hedge rows with removable trees. He used tooth picks with clump foliage and hot glue to hide the peg holes when he did not want to use the trees.

http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/resin ... tumps.html the tree stumps could be pegged for example

You can drill and peg about any thing.

I know a lot of you do not like flock.

Yeah, I really like those trees but I can't find them anywhere outside of Germany. I did a Google Image search on the picture, even. :( No luck. If anyone finds it in the US, please let me know. I like the trees.

Thanks, OldEnt for all of the tips.
