I'm at work so I can't assemble much, but how about a list of people that may be mentioned so new members/visitors know who we're talking about?

Stefan, Cayster, Lulu, Michelle/Lady Sabelle, Elye/Griffin Tamer, Josh, Nina, Drew, etc. (Apologies to those I missed in this 30 second posting)

It was suggested in another thread that we build a list of commonly used abbreviations and terms that new participants might be able to reference. Here is the start of a list I was putting together for the wiki (and added to with suggestions from that thread).

Please offer suggestions for wording and things to add.

Addiction - The constant need for more Dwarven Forge pieces. Whether it is more of what you have or new pieces that have recently been released. Also known as "The Addiction."

BeanSlayer- AKA Nate, creative director, slave driver, Doom minion (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Beta Set - A difficult to find science fiction set that includes long passages and curved passages

Blowpipe Lizardman - A promo piece that was given to those who pre-ordered Cavernous Lake sets

Bowtie - A small resin piece shaped like a bow tie that was used to interlock the pieces of early resin sets. Sometimes it is spelled Bow-Tie.

Build - A layout of Dwarven Forge pieces that is usually a diorama or used in gaming

Catacombs - A line of two resin sets and several add-on sets that is very popular and still produced today. May also refer to the first set in the line.

Cayster - Stefan's loyal canine, known for his hanging tongue.

CBS - City Builder Sets - any set that was part of the city builder kickstarter

Chuck - Problem Slayer, Dwarvenite Sage, and Prestidigitator of Parts (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Clay mines- Where DF sculptors toil away at creating the magic.

CoS - Chamber of Sorrows - a dwarvenite set that was only available through the first game tiles kickstarter and then through the store until stock ran out.

Danther - a miniature proposed for the Menagerie Encounter in the DoD... it was not selected. The name came from crossing the names "Dan" and "900 lb Panther" who were active KS5 comments participants

DF - Dwarven Forge (for most of us) Dragon Fire? (for one of us)

DwF - Dwarven Forge (for that one of us)

DoD - Dungeon of Doom - the full set of all encounters offered in KS5 - May also refer to KS5 itself

DoE - Den of Evil - A limited edition line of resin sets (1500 sets each) and some add-ons with a a particularly evil theme

DoE Hellscape - Den of Evil sets with a volcanic theme

DooFer - Term used by forumites referring to fellow collectors and forum participants

Doom to your Wallet - An opportunity to spend large sums of money (like during a kickstarter)

Drew - Master Mini wrangler (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Dwarvenite - A PVC material that is used to make the vast majority of the modern Dwarven Forge game tiles. Everything from the Dungeons, Caverns, City Builder and Dungeon of Doom lines

Dwarvenite-G - A material similar to ABS (think Lego) that is used for making larger pieces that will not hold their shape well if made of Dwarvenite. Also known as Gorgonite

Elye - AKA Griffin Tamer. Sculptor and artist of Valoria, works with Stefan on world lore. Master Citadel Builder (see the videos). May be part avian with his love of griffins (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Erin- Valorian Paint Sorceress (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Gamma - A very rare science fiction set that includes sci-fi furnishings like work stations, captain chair, hypersleep pods, crew beds and the like

Gorgonite - A material similar to ABS (think Lego) that is used for making larger pieces that will not hold their shape well if made of Dwarvenite. Also known as Dwarvenite-G

Griffin Tamer - AKA Elye. Sculptor and artist of Valoria, works with Stefan on world lore. May be part avian with his love of griffins (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Josh - Wire and light artisan of Valoria, responsible for many of the lighted elements in the Dwarven Forge dungeons (Dwarven Forge Staff)

KS - Kickstarter
KS1 - Dwarven Forge Game Tiles Kickstarter (Dungeons)
KSI - Dwarven Forge Game Tiles Kickstarter (Dungeons)
KS2 - Dwarven Forge's Second Kickstater - Caverns
KSII - Dwarven Forge's Second Kickstater - Caverns
KS3 - Dwarven Forge's Third Kickstarter - City Builder
KSIII - Dwarven Forge's Third Kickstarter - City Builder
KS4 - Dwarven Forge's Fourth Kickstarter- Castle Builder
KSIV - Dwarven Forge's Fourth Kickstarter- Castle Builder
KS5 - Dwarven Forge's Fifth Kickstarter - Dungeon of Doom (Return to Dungeons)
KSV - Dwarven Forge's Fifth Kickstarter - Dungeon of Doom (Return to Dungeons)

Lady Sabelle - AKA Michelle. Sculptress extraordinaire, known for her fine detail work and fireworks shows. Like Gandalf (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Lulu - Stefan's trusty sidekick and Arwen to his Aragorn

MBE - Medieval Building Expansion Set - the second set in the MBS line

MBS - Medieval Building Sets - Line of two resin sets for creating wooden building - May also refer to the first set in the series

Michelle - AKA Lady Sabelle (or LadySabelle). Sculptress extraordinaire, known for her fine detail work and fireworks shows. Like Gandalf

Mod - "Modification" - Physical alteration to a Dwarven Forge piece by a customer. Also a piece that has been modded by a modder.

Modder - One who modifies Dwarven Forge tiles.

Momo - Devil Dog, Hell Hound, Nina's Animal Companion

MWoD- Modular wall of Doom aka Insert Slot Wall, from Castles KS4. Allows one to insert KS3 City Builder walls in Castles

Nate - AKA BeanSlayer of Valoria, creative director, slave driver, Doom minion (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Nina - Sculptin Goddess, Media Magician, Office Guru (Nina does some of everything and does it with style) (Dwarven Forge Staff)

No Bowties - Refers to sets made after 2007. Since 2008 all new sets were made without the bowtie slots. Some "reprints" of old sets were also made without bowties

Pacman Piece - 3/4 tower floor piece from the six inch towers in the Castle Builder sets.

Raft - A promo piece that was given to people who pre-ordered Cavernous River and Walls Sets.

RotA - Realm of the Ancients - A limited edition line of two resin sets (1500 sets each) and a few add-on sets with a Romanesque flair. Also spelled RoTA and ROTA.

Ruined Entrance - A RotA promo piece

Scalegate - Refers to a tile size difference that resulted from various sources such as the difference between 1 inch and 52mm or the shrinkage of various materials as they set up and the technologies used to design and/or create the tiles. The end result is that some tiles do not match up perfectly with others resulting in gaps in some builds.

Sci-Fi - Science Fiction Sets - A resin line of sets that are themed for science fiction. Some sets were limited edition while others are still being produced.

SG - Stretch Goal - a reward (such as an extra piece) given to kickstarter backers when a pre-defined monetary level or number of backers has been reached.

Spiropolous the Minotaur - AKA Stefan. The First Sculptor, Keeper of the Dungeon, Architect of Doom

Stefan/Stefano - The First Sculptor, Keeper of the Dungeon, Architect of Doom. AKA Spiropolous the Minotaur. Founder of Dwarven Forge (Dwarven Forge Staff)

Tobi- Valorian Creative Trap finder, Sculptor (does great compositions), JoAT (Jack of All Trades) (Dwarven Forge Staff)

TOH or ToH - Tomb of Horrors - a deadly adventure module with a long history. It was written by Gary Gygax in 1975 for tournament play and then published in 1978 by TSR. It has been updated and republished many times over the years for various versions of Dungeons & Dragons.

Trog - Term used by forumites referring to fellow collectors and forum participants.

Valoria - New York Studio where DF magic happens. Also the capital of Mythras.

Valorian - Term used by forumites referring to fellow collectors and forum participants. Citizens of Valoria. Also all the creative minds at Valoria.

Water Sets - Refers to three exceptionally beautiful resin sets that are in high demand but no longer produced. Cavernous Lake Set, Cavernous Lake Expansion Set, and the Cavernous River and Walls set.

Welcome to the Addiction" - A traditional greeting to new forumites.

WOTC - Wizards of the Coast

YRTFW - "You Rock the Free World" - honorary award conferred by forumite Shadox for creativity, cleverness, or execution of Dwarven Forge set-ups, design, mods, or suggestions. Sometimes awarded in multiples.

Zaltar - Stefan's evil twin, known to TPK many an adventuring group.
