I wonder if Lava pieces could be cast in clear PVC. I'm pretty sure they would look super cool once painted appropriately and laid out on my LED light box.
I used to work for a couple of sign companies. I remember once having to spray a clear lexan sheet white because it was cheaper than buying a frosted translucent piece.... The paint wasn't transparent or applied evenly and it really showed when lit from behind. It's best to use transparent paints or better yet, inks with clear PVC if lighting with LEDs.
Good to know, thanks Josh. I am really looking forward to seeing the paint schemes people come up with for the ice caverns. I have high hopes for the translucent paints people have mentioned. I've never worked with them personally, but a light blue wash with a light dry brushing of opaque white over the top is my plan.

An Ice cavern would be fun to paint as lava!

I ordered 7 water sets. 5 painted as water and 2 unpainted.
I was intending on painting the unpainted as sewers but I might do them as lava now that stefan has indicated sewers are in the next kickstarter.
I will paint my lava to match my hellscapes terrain.

Hmmmmm... Since the Lave River tiles are a base yellow, I wonder if the standard Water Cavern tiles are a base green...
They'd better not be... I don't know how you'd get the shore parts to match the rest of the caverns properly in that case. They didn't sell a "dwarvenite" paint color in the kickstarter as far as I know.
