I told myself that while the sets are AWESOME, there's no need to build an entire table of catacombs, that they don't get more awesome just because there's more of them. A small catacomb is just as cool as a big one.

Seriously, this is so cool. And it makes it so appealing to have at least TWO of these. . . .

To paraphrase Highlander "There can NOT be only one..."

I have stopped (ahem...) with four each of sets 1 and 2 (plus a whole bunch of extras small sets). I can lay out a good 4x5 foot table full of catacombs. It looks freaking cool. We've run several Frostgrave games with it. The guys that came over were wowed, not only with the deailed design and sculpts but also the lights.

It (catacomb theme) is applicable and fitting for so many time periods and genres - in my mind it is one of the best DF themes to collect.

Here is a symetrical layout with two each of - Cat #1, #2 and 6" LED walls.
The unpainted minis are from the Zombiecide - Black Plague KS.

I have noticed something that shouldn't bug me, but my eye for this kind of thing is messin with my logic. Why are some of the skulls jammed into the outside surface of the exterior walls not painted? As I highlighted in the second picture some of those walls have unpainted skulls within the rock. Was this the intention or am I just that picky. ;) :ugeek:

Anyway, I may hit them with a touch of paint to fix my brain. ;)

If you want a little extra added variety, I have some skull/catacomb pieces from our very own Lady Sabelle that I use with my catacombs. If she had any prepainted left, they don't match exactly in regards to color, but the feel is similar. Creepy, creepy, creepy. :)

This look awesome. The twinkling LEDs just rock. All we need is a little fog and creepy organ music.

Sorry Blue Prophet, I don't have a good answer to that.

I do have some more (1) Cat#1 and (2) Cat#2's with (2) 6" wall set ups.
This one morphs a few pictures in with a Woodland Set and some old Master Maze Dungeons.

Waiting for the Wolfsburg addition still.

I love how you can position a zombie staring straight at a wall and it seems completely fine.

I'll do a few more with these three sets again soon. But, I found out I'm getting a second Cat #1 set real soon as a gift. Wooo Hooo, so the layouts will start to include those pieces when they get here. Man I can't wait for the City Builder to get here.

Didn't they say somewhere that they will not be printing any more of the woodlands set, even though it has not hit its print run limit? Of course I've heard people talk of the fit issues with this set, but plenty of people seem happy with it despite some flaws.
