The guy selling heraldry and other dungeon decorating elements on eBay just made his goodies available for sale again:

Thanks for the links and replys.
I have seen the Otherworld cube, but somehow I think DF could do it better (and maybe for less). The home made cubes look great.
I actually have some heraldry and trophies already, they are from the Fantascenes line that Minifigs used to make back in the early '90s. Everyone who's seen them wonders where I got them so I thought I might suggest it here.

Anyone look into the mirror idea? Not much use for a game, true, but for those who use DF as a display for painted figures, a few mirrors can create some cool illusions.

Otherworld does make the gelatinous cube with items inside and clear insiders well.

Ainsty Casting has some shield-and-crossed-weapon "wall trophies", and I think Otherworld still makes a gelatinous cube...

Snurl, Regarding heraldry and taxidermy dressing, I suggest you take a look at Thomarillion: http://www.thomarillion.de/ They have a lot of great goodies including a few of those.

I was once making clear gelatinous cubes and was selling them to other DF members. I also wrote how I made them. I only have 2 left for sale, the rest I keep as my personal gooey army!

Here's an idea for the next Dungeon Dressing set that comes up. It's kind of basic, suprised DF hasn't done it already......

Picture a Kite Shield mounted on a wall with two crossed Longswords behind it. (or crossed axes, naturally)
This could be a seperate piece that could be glued to an existing wall or stuck on temporarily-like with blu-tack.

While I'm wishlisting- a few mounted Taxidermy style monster heads might look cool.
Or a Gelatinous cube, clear with treasure or victims inside.
A Fireplace that lights up like the Catacomb corners would be nice to have.
Or - look at Adrian Fisher's mazes on Google. A few mirrors can create a very cool visual effect. :0)

I would love a set of nothing but Insert Walls and Portable walls!

Portable Walls are in Cavernous River and Walls.
Insert walls are in Advanced Builder Set 2.
Throw in the Raisable Portcullis, Collumns, and Stairs from Wicked Additions.
Make a double door to go with some single doors from Advanced Builder Set 1.

Basically have a set with no floor squares so that it is usable on a Chessex Battlemat or printed poster maps. Could be a nice compliment to the "Only Floors" set mentions previously in this thread.

Of course with sculpts to match and make a cohesive set. Most of these are already done in the Classic Dungeon wall design. Create some 2 inch and 4 inch Portable Walls to match and that's going to be an instant buy for me.

So basically a set of standard pieces, but 4"x4" instead of 2"x2".

Two walls on opposing sides make a passage, or a segment of a 20' wide room. One wall can be used in a room, or as the middle of a T intersection. Two connecting walls (a corner) can be used in a room, or as an L turn in a passageway. A 4"x4" floor can be used as the center of an X intersection. And a double-width curved passage would really round out the set.

Four or five basic pieces, each one the equivalent of four standard 2"x2" pieces. There would probably be ten or less in a set, but it seems doable.

You absolutely can (although if you did that it would be 6 inches) however unless you have 100's of straight wall pieces, making a lair of more than a few rooms is pretty tough.

I have what most regular gamers would consider to be alot of DF stuff; just got back into it so have not sorted through all my stuff yet but somewhere in the neighboorhood of 23-28 sets mostly non cavern/sets before 2008 but when I started looking at doing a giants lair it takes so many wall and floor pieces that it leaves the rooms little material to work with.

To create the giant equivalent of 1 standard size "L" Hall piece you need 10 straight walls, 1 2x2 floor piece and 1 corner piece.

Couldn't you achieve the same effect by using two wall sections with a 2 by 2 floor piece between them? i.e. it would be 4 square wide?

Or am I musunderstanding what you're meaning?

Dave
