I have queried both Offspring about their fluency in 3DP. Eldest Offspring is 3rd year engineer working (for pay) for a prof who is solving certain 3DP problems. Eldest has unlimited access to multiple industrial 3DP for free.....ummm.....if they have the time/talent/3DP I have the $$....

Totus KS Delenda Sunt, Except KS5
Sounds like a plan with no drawbacks :)

Almost like it was planned ..................
Yeah, but the up front investment in time and $$ makes the ROI look pretty bad!

I recently backed this. If you have a 3d Printer, it looks like a pretty cool ship making system.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13 ... p-terrain/
CLear as mud. The reward levels are muddy, that is. Can you not buy add-ons unless you have bought it? Levels which don't include add-on buy in say you can 'of course' get the add-ons later.

Otherwise, interesting.

I agree that it's a little murky, but I'm just backing the base ship level since he doesn't have a track record and that actually gets you a lot of options. He's posted a bunch of test prints and stuff though, so it seems legit like it's going to be a cool thing. I'll have to get some brown filament. :)

Thanks for sharing! I recently heard this referenced on a Youtube video, but no link was provided. I can't wait to get a couple of these.

I like that it's coming painted (and rumored to have an unpainted version available later). Plus the deck is reversible, with one side a grid and the other normal decking. This will be too good to pass up.
If it is not "Expertly Hand Painted" I do not want it!!! :D

I am also looking forward to this painted.
Right? For unpainted I thought it'd be a "nice thing I'd buy and probably wouldn't have time for in the next year." But painted means it can hit the table right away. I'm not too worried about the paint job. I mean, how badly can they screw up wood? :D

Saw the WizKids ship yesterday and man that looks awesome and big and very probably very expensive.

So started to search for it and then realised its not out yet (needed to actually read the article rather than drool over the picture) then searched for alternatives.

There are some half decent toy ships that with a strong dark wash will look great - assuming the plastic is wood textured and not just stickers.

There are some gorgeous model ships but obviously more expensive and our games don't often involve ships, but that would probably change if we got one.

Also came across the STL ship on KS in my search and added it to my reminder list - got a few STL files for various terrain - but my one KS bust was for a 3D printer :( so no way of printing them .... yet.

Decisions decisions...... and KSVI coming in a few months .......
