I'm really hoping for plastic and painted. So we'll see what the KS delivers.

To each their own, but keep in mind Dreadhollow is $90 for 4 small trees or $65 for 2 large trees.
And I didn't buy any of that either. ;)

Knew these were coming early this year, had not appreciated it was going to be a KS

Will definately have a look at this.

These will have advantages over flocked trees, such as you can remove the foliage, stability, flock not coming off, branches not catching everything that gets with an inch, easier storage. But that is mitigated by the price.

Well worth looking at, though the resin construction bears more investigation.

Resin is a lot more durable than it used to be. There's more flex in it. But it does depend on what they decide to use. They are really experienced, so I'm expecting good things.

I have trouble getting excited about this. $10 per tree is about 3x what flocked trees cost, I count about 30 trees on the 3x4 table in the pics, and that's a pretty sparse scattering of trees. That's $300. For a dense forest in the same table size, it's $600 or more.

If these were $5 a tree or less, or a $30 STL file we could 3d print, I'd be more interested. But as it stands my flocked trees are doing the job. Trees are kind of background items, and I don't want to spend $10 per unit on them any more than I want to pay $10 per unit for something like a crate or a boulder. Even DF painted pieces are down to $3-4 per piece in most sets. The DoD Deadly Corners encounter painted, for example, is $171 and contains 57 pieces, for an average for $3 per piece.

I heard they started a resin casting facility, so I'm assuming these are made in the US and done in resin.

I have had very bad experiences with resin minis, so I have to ask are those smaller tree branches going to even last a year?

Oh man I hope my painting skills are up to following that forced perspective and progressively darkening that well cause that’s just an awesome effect

$10 a tree!? Ok yeah I've been excited for this KS, but now I'm reallllly excited for this KS! I really like that pulling the leaves off these ones give you a barren tree. That definitely doubles their usefulness for me.

Digging that well as well...
