Minis for pets or small animals.

Post by weberemmanuel » Thu Sep 19, 2019 9:49 pm

Any good source of minis for pets or small animals ?
I have been struggling to find any good assortments of minis at 25 or 28mm scale for small animals (cats, dog, ferret, mice etc).

painted or unpainted?

since unpainted are fairly easy - i will assume painted

Wardlings - each come with a familiar - some good options there if you are looking for somethign specific

Dungeon Crawler has a very nice mastiff

I can't find it but Whiz Kids has a farm set coming out that has a lot of us paying attention

Train stuff sort of works

Unpainted would be fine too.
Cattle is easy enough to find but I am having a hard time finding varieties of smaller domestic animals (different breeds of dogs, fluffy cats, mouse, ferret, turtle, ...)

I think the wiz kids kit you are referring to is this one:

Thanks, I have been checking the reaper offering before but missed one of the familiar pack with a ferret and cat.
And now I absolutely need to have the crazy cat lady :P

Thanks kodiakbear. Some interesting looking figures.
I didn't have the best experience with them in the past. Too much assembly, parts not fitting well requiring excessive amount of filler etc.

Otherworld does have some epically multi part minis but these are all single-part miniatures so they should not be trouble.

Their Carrion Worm mini actually states this "It is a highly detailed and dynamically posed miniature, which will be a challenge to all but the most competent, patient and well-equipped modellers. If you’re not confident in building multi-piece castings (this one has 28 parts), then this model is not for you!"

I remember people on their old forum being so impressed when one of the regulars got it assembled and painted so nicely.

My suggestion is just to search Amazon for HO Scale Small animals and you can find lots of animal sets intended to decorate HO Gauge model train layouts. Those will be the right size.

I ended going that route for several figures.
