In the pledge manager phase of this KS, the creators asked specifically if people would consider backing them again if they made a Meso-American themed tileset (they mentioned Aztec by name, but probably would apply to Incan/Mayan). I certainly said 'yes', so those who are interested may want to keep a lookout for another KS by these folks in the future. I doubt they will get all waves of product fulfillment done before mid-late winter, so maybe some news in the spring.

The creators did well in the PM phase, increasing their total pledge to C$100,000 from C$86,500 and with 10% of backers still to complete/respond.

Didn't go in big, but I figured the variety was worth risking some $$$ for a couple sets.

I missed it but everything will be available in their shop later so no problem.

Exactly this. I've recently been collecting all the PF materials for Osirion.

I backed too, been looking to do some Egyptian tomb fantasy/pulp gaming. Now I don't have to paint a different schema with some of my dungeon tiles.

I'm in as well. They look like a beautiful complement to DF.

They are perfect for Dr. Mobius and his Nile Empire....

I decided to back this project, too. We're approaching the last 48 hours, so if you have a chance, check it out. Lots of "free" stretch goals have been unlocked, which substantially increases the value of the base pledge.

This is likely shipping-friendly to Canada and USA only due to the weight of the materials, so be forewarned.

From http://www.crystalinks.com/pyregypt.html

Many of the pyramids were built with a number of different stone materials.  Most of the material used was fairly rough, low grade limestone used to build the pyramid core, while fine white limestone was often employed for the outer casing as well as to cover interior walls, though pink granite was also often used on inner walls. Basalt or alabaster was not uncommon for floors, particularly in the mortuary temples and as was mudbricks to build walls within the temples (though often as not they had limestone walls).

Which isn't to say that it can't be a simple paint job, or even that it can't be neon green if that's what someone wants. Just a quick reference if anyone is interested.

I've seen tutorials before where it's just a dip and wipe in a reddish brown shade. Looks fine.

Thanks for posting this. I haven't backed yet, but am interested.

I generally go for painted these days as I have such a backlog of stuff to paint, but a sandstone theme seems like it would be an easy/quick paint job. Am I'm missing something in that assumption?
