Re: Kickstarter - Adventure Tiles
I'm too committed to 3D; I may use the mat but I already have a Hotzmat for my green grass so....

Re: Kickstarter - Adventure Tiles
My issue is that I just do not think the value meets the cost. I mean $60 for a 30"x30" mat is steep. Frontline Gaming sells a 3'x3' mat for $55.00. I backed another Kickstarter a few months ago and will be getting a 3'x3' mat for $25! The add on pricing is also way off. I can't justify $40 for 8 pieces of 2D scenery to place on my smaller mat, when I can buy two copies of Wizards Wilderness Tiles for that price. Or get another Dwarven Forge set to add to my 3D terrain collection. Don't get me wrong, I think the concept and the details on the maps look great. I just think everything is way overpriced when you compare it to the options out there. In addition, they have doubled their funding goal, but only 1 freebie for backers? If you want more backers, you got to sweeten the pot for them. Make them feel like they are getting a deal. I just don't see that with this project.kitenerd wrote:I love this - begged for it and upped my pledge immediately
i do wish the edges had more water so that you could make a river wide enough that an adventurer could not simply jump across (30ft across... no problem let me get a running start!), but i can fake that with a gap
I am surprised quite frankly that more folks aren't jumping on this KS... it is doing quite well, but i would have expected a lot more interest

A few updates on the campaign more to come!!

Re: Kickstarter - Adventure Tiles
Hex grids is something we discussed but have not had a lot of requests for.
If we had a lot of backers asking for it we could do it. Otherwise it is simply not cost effective to invest in.

Re: Kickstarter - Adventure Tiles
I tend to prefer Hex Grids for outdoor adventuring. Has anyone seen any mats similar to these that utilize hex grids instead of square grids? For me at least, square grids are best used indoors.

Hey everybody. I am one of the team involved with this project. Feel free to ask any questions you have here.
I have been out of town at Warmachine Weekend working the Broken Egg Games booth. We ran several RPG sessions while we were there. I will post some pics soon!
Thanks to everyone who has considered or has backed!
