I just got an email from a KS for a treasure chest that I backed for only $1 awhile back (and had completely forgotten about):
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/37 ... le_created

Unfortunately, the guy doesn't seem to be selling the chests on his site:

But you could ask him if he has any more that he can sell.

One suggestion that you've probably already realized, but that I've told a lot of people - don't go in on a Kickstarter as a gift for someone's birthday or other hard-set day. It's a pretty big crap shoot with Kickstarter.
yeah, my son is still asking about his Sabertron swords... they were for his 10th birthday... he turns 13 in a month!

Ok I got the chest on Saturday morning. It's pretty solid. It comes with two keys and the lock; the lock is a little finicky but I feel it adds charm as it's supposed to be an older style lock.

The metal is just painted/plated black. I've noticed that with the lock going in and out of the metal loop/hole on the box there are some silver scratches. Nothing really noticable.

The bottom of the box is a solid piece of wood, not slats. But it's covered all of the time so I'm good with that.

I've gone over $100 in each of the Fantasy Coin projects so I have a lot of coins. The box is HEAVY with them. It holds up really well, no sagging or creaking.
