Back near the begining of KS1 I decided to get unpainted so I could get more tiles, as filling more of a table has always been very fun. I had planned to paint them in a lighter more sandstone style. My game world has Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Amazons (Africa inspired), India, Native American inspired cultures along with multiple Halfling, Elf, Gnome and Dwarf kingdoms plus several others and when I look at all these a lighter more sandstone style fit better than the standard DF paint scheme. But as each KS rolled around and I continued to happily play with the unpainted tiles I realized that Dwarvenite gray does really make the characters and monsters pop as you say.
I had held off posting pictures because it does not photograph as well as painted DF does nor do I have a good place to take photos. Sometimes I remember to take pictures before we game and I realized that some of the styles of my builds had not been similarly duplicated or at least not duplicated and show here by the masters builders of the forum. So I figure what the heck, do a test and see if the forum pic size is big enough to show anything.
Either way I hope you all enjoy the Adventures in gray.
