Whats funny is that when i was supporting my "local" game shop and playing PFS on a weekly basis - that shop was a 40 mile drive from me - it was a great shop and i made it a point to buy something everytime i was there, just to support their staying open late and hosting games

Now i buy very little game stuff anymore and what i do is mostly KS or direct from small manufacturers

This store is 3-4 years new to the community and mainly we utilize it for my sons RC hobby (geez - you think gaming is expensive...) but they are super folks with everything from an indoor racetrack to terrain tables for the 40K folks to X Wing nights and D&D Adventurers league. They do summer camps and are even hosting a merit badge day for the boy scouts. They are a really wonderful community partner and a great asset to have.

It was a no brainer to order it there

I love that the sails are cloth. I assumed they'd be plastic. Now I'm even more eager to get mine.
Thanks for the pics!

Nice and I also agree about supporting local gaming shops where possible. I used to do my fair share of local purchases, but I guess so few others did that the shops either closed or shifted product lines to stuff outside my base of interest. That left online and Ebay (which I guess is also online).

I envision this ship being a target for the PC's to capture at some point, and either destroy of bring into port to be converted to the navy of the "good guys". Still working on weather it will be a high seas encounter or a dock based one, and leaning towards it being a dock, perhaps in an enemy port. In any case, that fight is many months off (possibly this fall I think.)

it is in a locked case - and it doesn't feel fragile at all - it is a pretty substantial piece - i am sure dropping the whole thing would end badly but simply handling it won't hurt a thing

The ship does look good. I hope they put it on display someplace where people can't handle it. I would hate for someone to break part of it on you.

FLGS for the win!!!

Yeah - I paid full price. Wanted to throw some love to my awesome local game store/hobby shop Fundemonium in Rohnert Park. They host games, sell RC parts for all my sons broken toys and donate to all our school functions... In light of all of that saving 20% buying online seems petty.

They called this morning and i had time this afternoon, so i went to check this bad boy out. Of course we immediately opened it up and checked it out. I gotta say it is pretty glorious. Attention to detail is good, the cloth sails are awesome, and even the stairs up the outside are slotted to hold a mini base.

They do not intend to stock it, only special order. Since i don't have anything nautical on the near term horizon i offered to let them keep mine on display for a few weeks to generate some buzz. Felt weird to walk out empty handed ;)

I have not gotten a shipment email yet. But I ordered mine from Atomic Empire cost me $199.99 there as a pre-order so I am more than willing to wait a little longer from it for that kind of discount ;)

Mine was ready to pick up last nite at midnight. I will stop and get it on my way home today. Looking forward to it.
