We suppose it depends on how many you get, the more you get the more room and money you save.
Also should help with shipping - only having half (or less) the boxes.

Given that a lot of DooFers are having space problems its a way of potentially having 2 or more styles of building but only having to store one (ish).

The one big advantage this KS has for us is that its pre painted :)
The modularity means we might go bigger as space is becoming the biggest issue

So for us this one ticks a lot of boxes especially as we like to fill our table with urban terrain and this will make a nice variation with our CBS and Epix Haven :)

About the KS project this topic started with, I have to say that I like how it looks.
I also really like the idea of the modularity.

The part I dislike, though, is how the greatest part of the cost of the buildings is actually the skins.
Of the 22$ of a house, 18$ is the skin, 4$ the base box.

At this point, I am wondering wether it is worth it at all.
Sure, you save some space (but honestly I don’t think much at all, unless you go all in and get a huge quantity of buildings - if you get just a few, then you save the room of a few base Boxes...).

Price-wise, the skins cost nearly as much as the completed buildings; I would spend 4$ more to have the building ready to go, and not have to build it with the skins every time, and I will have multiple complete buildings to use all together, rather than having to chose which one to put on the table.

So I guess what I mean, is that I would consider wether or not it is worth to buy the buildings as finished pieces, and compare them to other existing lines of ready-to-go finished fixed buildings, rather than considering them as “modular” pieces, since the modularity is not that much of an advantage at all here imho.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for sharing that extensive list! I do have deer. I want everything for a farm/village and most things a druid might decide they want to shift into.

I have collected bunches of "farm/domestic" and "wild" animals over the years... they are out there - most still in production.

Sources include (all 25/28mm metal unless stated otherwise):
Irregular (plus 15mm versions for the "young'uns")
Warlord
Eureka
Iron Wind / Ral Partha
Black Tree
Gripping Beast
Pegasus (plastic O or 1/48 scale)
DnD (resin)
Wargames Foundry
North Star
DeeZee
Dark Fable
Denizons of Azor / Forge of Ice
Mini mojo (plastic toy models)
and certainly others I don't recall at the moment.

In the "domestic" collective are:
cattle/steers/oxen/aurochs
mules/horses/ponies
pigs/goats/sheep
chickens/ducks/geese/peacocks/owls/ravens/crows
dogs/cats/rats/rabbits

In the "wild" collective are:
'funts/hippos/giraffes/zebra/wildebeest
antelope/oryx/ostrich/water buffalo
crocs/gators/lizards/kimodos/snakes
lions/cheetahs/tigers/panthers/leopards/puma
deer/honey badger(!)/moose/meerkats
hyena/vultures/jackals/wolves

I am pretty much set for any village/farm, and have jungle and savannah themes covered, although I'd like to get a few more species of antelope.

I also have a bunch of ice age mammals.

Oh sure... NOW everyone wants a boat!
I should have been clearer with my post, I want the two by two ... ANIMALS...
"We (now I sound like a bunch of rabbits) don't need no stinkin' boat". ;)

To be totally fair we forgot about the Ark bit and the whole big buggering boat that implies.
Was just thinking of livestock.
Though an Ark does not have to be that boaty or shippy it can just a curve ended building (kinda).

'But we don't need no stinkin boat'

We bought a resin Man-O-War at Salute on Saturday

Bones 4 Stygian Barge is close to an Ark, right? :?

I have a few horses, and more on the way. If it's a familiar or common summoned animal I probably have one. I think I have a goat and a pig, even. No sheep, though, or anything in the deer family, or chickens. I'm not personally going to be setting up a lot of pastoral dioramas, but it would be nice to have a few domestic dog types and a few farm animals.
