Most forests have more than one flavor of tree anyway. ;)
Never found a liquorice flavoured one yet :(

Thanks, been experimenting with a bunch of DH builds, mixing and matching, seeing what works, what I might need to order. Definitely a couple more bank packs, and probably 1 small and 1 large tree pack, too many empty stumps currently.

Yeah we got some MT sets at some of the cons, so these are the resin versions. I find there trees and rocks to be really useful and combine them with my DF pieces all the time.

The MT trees match up the shading a bit better in person, not sure I'd add a wash or not, maybe. And each tree is a little different (probably since these are the resin "homemade" versions?) so it would be a case by case thing. The MT trees are good at filling in the spaces if you want a more dense forest feel, plus I've found they can break up the homogamy of DF style.

Fab work AstroCat :) liking the mix of terrain and not just trees.
Did you get your MT trees from a convention ?

Forgotten what we pledged for from MT - mostly green trees, some dead and some scatter terrain.

Thought they would look ok with DH, but never expected them to be of the same quality as DF trees, good to see they look OK :)
And they have other advantages from DF trees, canopies come off, they can be place virtually anywhere, cheaper.

A light wash we think would help them looking at the pictures. Though we find that pictures tend to saturate shade, which to the naked eye look better, more shaded.

Not all flocked trees are created equal ;)

We have some good and some not so good. Looking forward to see which ones work.

I have a small amount of Monster Terrain trees coming.

I wonder if a wash would help alleviate the scoops of leaf ice cream look they have or if it would make it worse?
Selective shading and highlights might just do that, especially if focused on each scoop.

I bought a lot of the mountain floors, the 8x8 ones, and I am hoping to use Mountains and monster trees as scatter on them.

Still anxiously waiting for the Monster Trees to ship. That was one reason I did not go for more forest floor tiles, since I figure I can use the monster trees on the woodlands mat, other scatter terrain and then some banks to enter the DF action zone on the game mat. In this case my "terrain tray" is a 4'x6' woodland floor mat, that only cost about the same as a couple of terrain trays would have. Combined, they should easily more than cover my table for a setting.
