Just got a quick answer from Johanna.
She works hard to change the level of the postage & package depneding on the different orders.
I really appreciate this and the service offered to the customers.

I just asked Dwarven Forge USA since Thod hasn't it yet and I really need it for the very first days of november where I will expose the Cavern sets to the "festival du modélisme" for 3 entire days.

I indeed bought on ebay one additional old cavern set at a reasonable price to expand my cavern universe (1 set of cavern and 1 cavernous passage set).
I already filled with half bow ties + green stuff those sets.
(do you remember my set photos about it ?)

I can order directly to the US shop but one tiny package of 100 half bow ties costs 106$ ... ! The minimum postage & package is 100$ even if the item ordered can enter in a simple enveloppe.

I wait for a reply about this issue.

JackAttack - it is a good idea that I have not tried.
I will have a look to see what colour options there are next time I am in a good stationers..

Have you considered using a couple of colored permanent markers on the exposed cut part? It's a little less demanding than actually painting them, but you might make them blend in a little better.

Thanks for the reply Thod. I Understand.
I have tried 'cutting' bow ties with a small circular saw (dremel etc) - but never happy with the unpainted grey part which is what you see,,,

I will have to have a think... Maybe I can justify buying something from the US store later this year and get a bunch of them then...

No - I don't plan to get them. Unless one day I need to get a package for some small pieces here and there together. There is just not enough demand to justify it. I've had two orders in 15 month - one for bow ties, one for half bow ties.

In the first case I just picked some of the better bow ties from my own collection. I hardly use them - but I never threw them away. They don't hold paint that well - that's why I picked 'better ones'.

In the second case I took out some pliers used to cut cables or to cut off metal from figures. The cut would dent one side (make it more narrow) - but you would get one very good half-bow-tie out of each full bow tie. You can use both sides if you are less fussy about it. I think only in one of 50 cases I wasn't happy enough with either.

Half Bow-Ties for Europe

I notice that on the main US store has stock of Half bow ties $6.00 for 100, but the European store does not even list them.

I would happily order a few sets from the US store but the Postage is immediately $20.00 :(

Will the European store be able to get several of these in this year ??
(I want about 4 bags of 100) I am planning to 'plug' up all my old bow-tie sets 'permanently' (glue) )
