For day 3 we have 2 winners again.

Jason Evens send me 2 great more classical pictures.

Jason Evans ‏@EvansJasonE
.@ThodsBazaar When my wife puts together scenarios, the women always get the treasure. #dwarvenforge on Kickstarter!

Oh - and I was encouraging pictures of people who don\'t (yet) own DF. This was a very tough one. I loved Ray Williams place holder.

But in the end - cuteness and audacity wins. People who watch youtube know that baby films draw views. So I couldn\'t say no to the new father presenting proudly his new baby.

Oliver Fraser ‏@Olanjack 21h

#dwarvenforge @ThodsBazaar It\'s a baby boy.

Oliver Fraser - now I want a picture of the mother as well please !!

The winner of day 2:

Christian Kleman

What I liked about the entry:
Simplicity - 8 corner pieces, 5 floor pieces, 8 diagonal corners, 1 treasure pile
The clever use of the figures
The witty text included:

Never underestimate the power of strategy... or the stubbornness of adventurers.

The winner of day 1 is ...

Actually - you all bowled me over and it was tough to make a decision. There was lots of great posts and I had an early favourite - until I got bowled over this morning by another entry.

So in the end I decided on

yes - not one winner but two

The smile of the young boy is just cute. Yes - I\'m a father as well and remember fondly how my son played with the dwarven forge sets. I still don\'t know what the monsters are.

So this is the entry from @Merimde aka EJ Lawrence

And then I got bowled (driven) over this morning by Dave McAwesome with his Nascar track of doom. Visit his blog. Blog link

There where lots of other great entries that are as deserving. I loved customs paints, I loved one set layouts, I loved the single piece with treasure, etc.

Congratulations to the winners and there will be a bridge for day 2.

KS Twitter challenge

Post by Thod » Mon Mar 17, 2014 4:36 pm

Today I was driving to the warehouse - a 2 hour drive while listening to the radio and various games where listeners could win something.
That gave me the idea for the KS Twitter challenge. I know a lot of the current backers love free stuff. And I knew in the warehouse I had a box with interesting Dwarven Forge \'stuff\'.
But live is hard and nothing ever is truly free. In the radio you phone in (premium number ?) and entertain other listeners. So what would be worthwhile for me to send something out to someone lucky or deserving?
And the idea of the KS Twitter challenge was born. You might have heard me bemoan that a search for dwarven forge on Twitter doesn\'t yield very many hits. And even if I occasionally post something with the #dwarvenforge hashtag - how many people actually ever read that?
So I thought I give an incentive out. At the warehouse I \'found\' a cavern entrance with bamboo door - yes - this is originally DF and from the Cavernous Lake expansion pack. This door never was and likely never will be sold on it\'s own. But it surely will make a nice addition to anyone pledging.
So what do you need to do to make it yours?
Do a tweet addressed to @ThodsBazaar with the hashtag #dwarvenforge in it and a photo of some DwarvenForge related picture attached as well as your KS backer name. I will select a lucky recipient from all entries.
How do I decide? I don\'t know yet. It doesn\'t has to be a large build up. I\'m always for the underdog - so something smart, surprising, etc. will do it. YouTube videos are also allowed.
And if you don\'t win? Maybe there is a second chance. If people like it - and if I get at least 5 entries by midnight (US West Coast) I will offer as second item a bridge from the River and Wall set.
I have enough pieces to last us every day of the Kickstarter. But it depends on you to convince me it is worthwhile doing.
So who is the first? If you are the only one, then you will automatically get the cavern entrance. If not - I pledge to follow everyone on twitter entering the competition.
I reserve the right to ask for a token contribution of the postage at a later stage if this becomes too successful. But for now it is free and I even post it worldwide wherever you are.
Address can be send to me via the contact page on the European site.
