first thing i grabed was a KS2 floor - i put calipers on it - 12mm or .475inches

KS 5 floor - 11mm .430 inches

rotating the cave floor next to the dungeon floor it appears that the cave floor varies from edge to edge some are thinner and line up perfect others are a tiny bit (1mm) proud - DoD floor is consistent

KS 5 4x1 floor measures .440 or slightly more than 11mm

all within tolerance and playability - you notice with your fingers running from one to the other, but almost imperceptible visually

hope this helps
Thanks so much, i have been for replying

I thought all floors were supposed to be 1/4" (6.35mm), whether CBS, streets, dungeon, or cavern.
1/4" is really thin - too thin for a floor tile in my opinion. Wonder how the KS1 floor compares to Kitenerd's other measurements.

Just anecdotally - the resin floors were even less consistent in terms of thickness - even, sometimes, within the same floor tile!

How thick are game tiles?

Post by astolat » Fri Sep 21, 2018 4:09 pm

I'm having a bizarrely hard time finding this information with search: can anyone easily tell me how thick the tiles are? The most info I've found is close to 1/3" but I assume there is some exact measurement in mm -- anybody know or have one handy about that they could measure? I have of course discovered a need to know this while I'm nowhere near any of my DF. :P
