Had an epiphany. What about masking tape or even duct tape? That would get rid of the sharp edge, wouldn't cause a sag, and would hold tight enough.scott102303 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 3:28 pm You guys are great for ideas, to be sure. Yeah, the bow is a concern. For me, I am using larger sheets - table-sized ones and ones that are about 24"x36". Not sure how pronounced the bow would be for that size. Would the epoxy resin last over time? It would limit the bulge and probably last longer. I may also just go back to my first plan and put plywood backing on all of them for protection from edges and improved rigidity. The 22 gauge steel I used bows a little more than I would like on my larger sheets. Thanks for the feedback.

I mentioned duct tape in my initial post on this - it should make it less prone to cutting but it might look poor. Not a big fan of masking tape for something permanent. Good thought.

You could just paint the whole thing after putting the tape on. ::shrug::

One way would be to put a nice ground surface on the edge.
Video of one option.

This looks to be pretty quick and a good way to reduce sharp edges and enhance safety.

I tried tapping the edges, it looks terrible on the table.
I eventually settled on elbow grease: 2 hand files (one coarse/one medium), and a vigorous finish with coarse sandpaper. The sides (and rounded corners) are smooth as silk. I knocked out over 40 sheets. Tho, I use mostly 16 gauge steel, which is a little thicker than the 22 (the 16 gauge doesn't bow).
