I like the railing walls a lot, but I am just very iffy on the whole thing. This might be better to leave to others.

I think it is possible, but having a few parts is really essential for max play value. I do not think modular dwarvenite is very mobile.

Rabbit Burner I agree that rounded part would be nicer but I am just learning Vectorworks ... lol only been working in it for a few days ..lol

I saw the 3DP Boat KS but for me I would like to layout all the decks so that as players go down or up levels without taking it apart. Also it is very limited in space for my gaming group as we play SpellJammer but had to re-wite it for Pathfinder so 5 foot squares are important.

Still hope Stefan and Nate see these and get inspired.

Kitenerd,

You started this.

Some of the basic tiles ideas.

I know these are not clean or to Dwarven Forge standards but lets hope Stefan or Nate will see this and get inspired.

my 2 cents

Fabulous work Dolken :)

And we think the RPG crew could be interested in a playable boat/ship layout where having a playable area would override aesthetics.

For us however we want a boat to have curves and look more boaty - goes against making the inside easily playable and pieces would be much harder to make .

We are also a backer of the 3DP boat STL KS that ForestZ linked.

right angles let you layer without tipping outward...

i suppose if each side went out 1/2 inch - then you could conceivably layer and still not be tippy (tray or post supports etc) - this would give the ship a nice gentle realistic flare

i am more imagining half height rails than full height walls

this becomes a delicate balance between artistic vision, historical realism and simplicity to keep piece count down and viability up

I'd stay away from the whole right angle look. I don't think that makes a good looking ship. While this is 3D printed, it gives some idea of how you could do a modular ship and still have it look good. (Disclosure, I'm a backer).

Nicely done Dolken!

That is exactly what i am hoping for. It doesnt need to bea perfect ship replica but a fun flexible and flavorful gaming environment. Your tiles are spot on.
